The Ahsoka premiere is finally here, and it only took fifteen years for her to be the star of her own show. Let’s be honest. The two-episode drop was excellent and was so worth it. However, like every premiere of a show, we have questions.
We’ve put together a list that will (hopefully) answer any of the questions you might have from the premiere. Some of the questions we can answer straight out, but there will be others where it will be a little harder to answer as we don’t have a definitive answer.
Questions that will pop up will also stem from the other outings, such as The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, Star Wars Rebels, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, amongst others.
1. Will We See Luke Skywalker?
One of the main questions that fans will want answered after seeing Ahsoka Tano interact with Luke Skywalker in The Book of Boba Fett is whether he will pop up in Ahsoka. We don’t know as it is unclear when his appearance in TBoBF takes place in the timeline. What we mean by this is we don’t know whether the Ahsoka premiere takes place before or after that episode of Book of Boba Fett.
However, the Ahsoka series may explain how Ahsoka and Luke met, as it was not referenced previously. There might be a reference to him as Anakin is due to appear at some point. Though, it is unclear how he will appear.
2. Where Was Jacen Syndulla?
A LEGO set for Ahsoka revealed that Hera Syndulla’s son, Jacen, would appear in the Ahsoka series. However, there wasn’t a reference to him in the premiere. So, will he show up at all? Patience is the key here because there is only so much that the first two episodes could give us. We still have six episodes left so he may pop up somewhere.
The LEGO set also revealed that Beyta, the Mon Calamari seen in images alongside Hera, would be in the show. There was also a hint to Jacen in a promo where Hera is seen in the Ghost’s pilot chair, and there’s a figure sitting beside her in the co-pilot chair who was shorter than the headrest. When we’ll see him is yet to be established, but it will be soon.
3. Why Weren’t Kanan And Zeb Referenced?
Ahsoka has long been considered the spiritual successor to Star Wars Rebels. After all, Hera and Sabine are two main focuses. So, where were Zeb and Kanan during the Ahsoka premiere? Given the timeline of Ahsoka, Kanan has been dead for almost a decade. Zeb, meanwhile, made his live-action debut in The Mandalorian Season 3 episode, The Pirate. However, his appearance was short, and Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have teased that he went to talk to someone we know. But who is it?
Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who plays Sabine, said that Ahsoka’s events occur during Mandalorian Season 3.
Also, Zeb and Kanan are included in the Ahsoka premiere, as depicted in the mural. However, neither are mentioned by name. Both may be mentioned at some point, given where in the timeline the show sits.
4. Who Were Governor Ryder Azadi And Senator Jai Kell?
The Ahsoka premiere gave us two unexpected Jai Kell and Ryder Azadi cameos. For those who do not know who they are, Jai was a stormtrooper cadet when Ezra Bridger went undercover in the Imperial Academy to get intel. He became a senator. Ryder Azadi was the Governor of Lothal early in the Empire’s rule. He was arrested and imprisoned with Mira and Ephraim Bridger, Ezra’s parents.
5. Will We Get Any Reference To The Darksaber?
Fans of Star Wars Rebels will remember that Sabine wielded the Darksaber at one point before she returned it to Bo-Katan Kryze. Her training with this weapon allowed her skills to be passed down to using Ezra’s lightsaber. In The Mandalorian Season 3, the weapon was destroyed by Moff Gideon.
Hera has already referenced Sabine as being a Mandalorian. Rebels might have a loose reference to this, but we’ll have to wait and see.
6. Where Does The Ahsoka Premiere Sit In The Timeline?
Okay, this is where the subject of the Ahsoka premiere gets a little murky when it comes to its alignment in the timeline. The first two episodes occur before the final scene in the Star Wars Rebels series finale. The last scene of the second episode of Ahsoka is a live-action version of the Rebels finale with a few minor changes, such as Ahsoka being in a grey cloak rather than a white one and carrying a staff. However, the context is still the same. They go off and find Ezra.
However, the first two episodes also occur after Ahsoka’s live-action in The Mandalorian Season 2 episode, The Jedi. The reason we know this is due to Morgan Elsbeth. She made her debut in the same Mando episode Ahsoka did, and she was arrested at the end and taken into custody. However, it is unclear where in the timeline The Book of Boba Fett episode with Luke Skywalker sits.
7. Will Quarrie Appear?
A while ago, we did a post on a leaked Ahsoka LEGO set that revealed that Jacen Syndulla would be included in Ahsoka. In the same position, we also said that Quarrie, the Mon Calamari who invented the B-Wing, would possibly be in the show. Well, it has been revealed that he was mistaken for another character of the same species in the LEGO set, which has since been corrected to be Beyta, a pilot who appears in the background of several shots with Hera in the trailers.
So, it is doubtful that Quarrie will appear in the show as he only appeared in one Rebels episode. He also wasn’t all that memorable, and what reason would he have to appear?
8. Why Did Sabine Have Long Hair?
So, this next question ties in with the timeline inquiry from earlier. Why does Sabine have long hair when the who picks up so soon after Rebels? The reason Wren has long hair is because years have passed since the main story of Rebels. The epilogue scene with Sabine and Ahsoka takes place in 9ABY. The main events before this take place in 1BBY. For those unsure, that’s roughly a decade. Also, ABY is short for After Battle of Yavin, while BBY is Before Battle of Yavin.
9. Will There Be References To Other Fulrum Agents, Such As Kallus?
We all know that Ahsoka’s codename was and still is Fulcrum, but will we get references to other agents with the same name? It’s entirely possible, especially Alexsandr Kallus, a friend of Zeb. Also, what has never been referenced on-screen in any screen project is that Cassian Andor was also a Fulcrum agent.
Times have changed since the Galactic Civil War, so there may be other Fulcrum agents that we don’t know about yet.
10. Will We Learn More About The Nightsisters?
The Ahsoka premiere confirmed that Morgan Elsbeth is a Nightsister of Dathomir. We’ll post on the Nightsisters later, just as an FYI. It’s possible that we could get more on Morgan’s backstory as we explore the story from her side. Could she be related to Merrin from the Jedi Fallen Order games? What about Ventress, the non-sith apprentice to Dooku? Anything is possible at this point.
11. Could We Get A Glimpse Of Snoke Since Ahsoka Is Adjacent To The Mandalorian?
To answer this question, we do not believe that Snoke nor his creation will be involved in Ahsoka at any point. Nor do we expect to see any glimpses of Rey’s parents, especially her father.
12. When Will Anakin Appear?
It has been known for a while that Anakin Skywalker will appear in Ahsoka. There was new audio in a recent promo. We originally weren’t going to cover this as we wanted to be surprised, but it kept coming up on Twitter, so we thought we’d go ahead and answer it. According to Bespin Bulletin in an exclusive, Anakin is scheduled to appear in the second Dave Filoni episode, episode 5.
Now, we don’t know if this is accurate. It’s not necessarily a surprise that this is when we’re likely getting Anakin. After all, Dave was the showrunner on The Clone Wars, giving him Ahsoka as his apprentice.
13. Could Marrok Bring Up Other Inquisitors Like Reva? And Is He Starkiller Or Ezra?
We wanted to put this as one question because we didn’t want to take up the last two places with the same topic. So, could Marrok mention Reva or the other Inquisitors? It’s unlikely he will, but other characters may. It’s also like asking whether Reva was in Fallen Order.
Next, we have whether Marrok is Ezra or Starkiller. We don’t believe so. Though, it would be surprising if it were Ezra.
The Starkiller theory has even come up because Sam Witwer (best known for playing Starkiller in the Force Unleashed games) appears in the credits of both episodes of the Ahsoka premiere. Whenever he seems or voices a character in Star Wars, Sam usually mentions it on social media. However, this time he didn’t.
There are two reasons for this. One is he might be a member of SAG-AFTA, so he could be striking like Rosario Dawson is. The second reason is he has a more significant role and cannot reveal anything. However, it has been speculated in the fanbase that he could be voicing the HK assassin droids.
14. Will Anakin Appear As A Force Ghost Or In Flashback?
Bouncing off our first Anakin question, Anakin may appear in both a flashback and as a Force Ghost. Whether or not they’re both in the same episode is unclear. We don’t believe so. If there are both, it’s possible that one will appear in one episode and the second in another, possibly the finale.
15. Could There Be Some Fun Easter Eggs Like ET Or The Freemakers?
So, we thought we’d touch on something fun for our last Ahsoka premiere questions. Could future episodes show some fun easter eggs like ET or the Freemakers? It’s hard to say whether there will be something like this in Ahsoka. However, it doesn’t hurt to ask. We don’t believe there will be any reference to either. Nor will Darth Revan or his Revanchists appear (to our knowledge).
For those who mightn’t be aware, the E.T. species appeared in a cameo during the senate debate in The Phantom Menace. George Lucas did this as a favour to Steven Spielberg, his best friend. Also, The Freemakers was a LEGO Star Wars television series.
