Who Is Darth Revan In Star Wars?

Revan, Star Wars

Star Wars Legends was riddled with figures that you could only dream about. One of those figures was Darth Revan. He was introduced in the 2003 videogame Knights of the Old Republic, which became a fan favourite. However, after Disney bought Lucasfilm, the character was branded as legends and was no longer canon. One advantage of the character in the game is you could pick the gender. However, a reference book at the time said that the character was male.

Revan returned to Star Wars canon in the visual dictionary for the 2019 film Rise of Skywalker. He was also rebranded as a Sith Lord. It was also established that he was supposed to appear in Star Wars: The Clone Wars during the episode, Ghosts of Mortis during the famed Mortis arc during the third Season. However, the scene was cut from the final episode. Though, he has been referenced in a flashback in the canon novel Shadow of the Sith.

What Star Wars Canon Says About Revan

While there isn’t much information on the Sith Lord in canon yet, we know a few things. The first is that Revan was the namesake of the third legion of the Sith Eternal’s army. During the time when the history of the Sith was hidden, members of the Sith Cultists were the only individuals who were aware of how important the name ‘Revan’ was.

During 3ABY and 4ABY, the cult of Sith followers started searching the Sith Citadel catacombs on Exegol. By 35ABY, the Revan Legion would be reactivated in time for the final battle between the Resistance and the First Order.
