What Has Meghan Actually Done For Women That Enforced Change? – OPINION

Meghan Markle, feminist, self-indulgent

It has been said a dozen times. Meghan Markle is not a feminist. She is self-indulgent and wants to place stereotypes on women to proclaim, “I saved you from the big bad world. Worship me!” We don’t live in the 1950s anymore. The female populace is not underrepresented, and we have our own voices. We don’t need a failed, washed-up, two-bit actress to tell us she’s our champion. She doesn’t have our permission to lead us.

Meghan Markle fails to see that she is the one placing labels on women. For example, during her Archetypes podcast, she tried shoving the bimbo trope onto Paris Hilton, despite the businesswoman saying she acted on The Simple Life and was never the “dumb blonde.” Before this, she tried to do the same with the diva trope with Mariah Carey who shut her down instantly.

I’m bringing this up because of the period poverty stunt Meghan Markle has pulled on the Archewell website. It was also on the Archetypes podcast that she claimed she was “43% Nigerian,” which is a lie because she is well-known for changing her ethnicity, religion, and nationality to suit her agenda. We saw this during her short stint as a woman of “Maltese descent.” However, here’s something I know personally. Just because you have ancestors born in a country doesn’t mean you’re the same nationality.

For example, my maternal grandfather was born in Egypt to full-blooded Italian parents. My mother is half-Italian, but that doesn’t mean she is Egyptian. It was my grandfather’s birthplace, and he was classified as Egyptian-born despite being full-blooded Italian. Another example I wanted to highlight is actress Nicole Kidman. She was born to Australian parents in Hawaii, USA. This doesn’t mean she is American. She was only born there like my grandfather was born in Egypt. My apologies if this is a little confusing.

Meghan Markle, being Meghan Markle, used her alleged ancestry to exploit the culture for a free trip and photoshoot. Tom Bower highlights this in Revenge. She was never Maltese, but she does have Irish blood through her father. She claimed to be Nigerian because one of her guests on her podcast was from Nigeria, and she needed a way to relate to her. It is that simple.

Going back to the fake feminist angle Meghan has going on, we all know that she bullied the female staff at Kensington Palace and how most of her staff at Archewell, male and female, have quit. It’s a constant revolving door you never see with the other royal staff. Prince William and Catherine have kept the same nanny for almost a decade. They hired Nanny Maria when their eldest son, Prince George, was a few months old. He’s now 10. I’ve seen that the Sussexes allegedly have gone through several nannies.

We know that one of the nannies Archie had as a baby was a woman named Lorren, who would carry him around on her back. Nothing wrong with that. According to Africa Press, she appeared in the Sussexes’ self-titled Netflix series. However, the article doesn’t clarify if she still works for them. I do not think she does, as the article says she currently works at Portland Hospital. Whether this article is accurate, I don’t know.

This also makes me wonder if each child has their own set of nannies. If there were a good relationship with Lorren, it would have continued, and she would have gone to the United States with them. She didn’t. However, she did appear in the reality show, which was filmed who knows when. Things can sour. I’ve even read rumours where Meghan Markle was downright rude to Nanny Maria at one point.

There was also a story where Maria allegedly caught Meghan taking pictures of a sleeping Princess Charlotte. When asked what she was doing, Meghan allegedly boasted that she could get over $300k for the photos. Now, I don’t know whether I believe that story. Would I put it past Meghan to stoop so low? No, I wouldn’t. Would I also put it past her to be rude to Maria? No, I wouldn’t. Why? Because Markle is threatened by any woman who calls her out.

If you want a true feminist who isn’t self-indulgent, look at Catherine, the Princess of Wales. Or Princess Anne, Princess Royal. Or even Zara Tindall or Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh. These women don’t flaunt who they are to the point it’s in our faces. Just because they are royals by marriage or birth doesn’t mean they must highlight and push their weight around. This is essentially what Meghan Markle is doing. She is doing precisely what her female in-laws aren’t doing.

Whenever Meghan is doing a speech, she always includes mentions of herself. Me. Myself. I. It’s never about other people. “I’m so proud of you all.” “You make me so proud.” I could keep going, but I won’t. When you listen to Princess Anne talk, it’s never about herself. It is about the charity she is promoting. She also doesn’t waffle about “seats at the table” or “ripple effects.”

To answer the question of this post, Meghan Markle has done nothing for the feminist movement. Nothing. Instead, she has pushed labels onto other women to prop herself up to be a hero for women’s rights.
