The Bold And The Beautiful

Finn’s Fixation On Steffy And Liam Is Borderline Scary

The Bold and the Beautiful writers are obsessed with making adult children be like their parents. For example, Liam Spencer is becoming like his father, Bill Spencer, regarding the ladies. Steffy Forrester Finnegan hates coming in second to Hope Logan like her mother, Taylor Hayes, hates coming in second-best to Brooke Logan. Meanwhile, Johnn “Finn” Finnegan is developing a darkness that could match his biological mother, Sheila Carter.

Ever since he started feeling remorse towards Sheila and hugged her outside the judge’s chambers, he has been hellbent on ignoring the truth. Finn appears to ignore that she has done some horrible things, yet he sees her as a hero because she ran in to save his stepdaughter, Kelly Spencer, at the beach. Yet, he goes after Liam for wanting Steffy back.

While Finn is correct about Liam wanting Steffy back, it doesn’t excuse his actions in defending Sheila. She is dangerous, and saving Kelly isn’t going to change anyone’s mind, except perhaps Deacon Sharpe, Hope’s father, who is sleeping with her.

The most concerning aspect of this situation is Finn’s fixation on getting Steffy back and blaming Liam for everything. While Spencer’s actions cannot be defended, Kelly’s life is the most important thing. As her parents, Steffy and Liam, have every right to question if their daughter is safe.

Finn knew not to take his eyes off her, regardless if he had a phone call, but what does he do? Took his eyes off her. It’s no wonder Liam no longer trusts him. Now that Steffy has moved into Eric’s house with the kids, the hot doc has no one to blame but himself for the situation he’s currently in.

The reason Liam followed Finn, to begin with, was because he got bad juju from him. He then saw him hugging Sheila, so Liam took the video. His first instinct is to protect Kelly from harm, and why wouldn’t he? Liam is her dad and has every right to be concerned.

We all know how obsessed Sheila is with having a relationship with Finn and Hayes. She’ll see Hayes over Steffy’s dead body. We all know that. Whether the doctor realises this is unclear, but ultimately, he cannot keep blaming Liam because Steffy has her own views on Sheila.

Even before Liam appeared on the scene, Sheila has been wreaking havoc. The only thing she has ever done to Finn is shoot him. With Steffy, Sheila robbed her of Taylor for many years. The madwoman also tried to kill Stephanie and Brooke. Let’s not forget she shot Steffy and left her in the same alley as Finn to die. Why doesn’t Finn see that? Oh, because he has some kind of ‘bond’ with Sheila.

Moreover, Finn’s obsession with blaming Liam is no different to the Logan Blame Game that Taylor constantly plays. Yes, Liam wants his family with Steffy back; that’s not a secret to most people. Though, RJ and Brooke want Hope and Liam to get back together, which isn’t going to happen.

Though, there was a case in the last episode of this week where Liam tells Hope he still loves her but places all the blame for their divorce on her shoulders. No, Hope wanted out because she knew he’d want Steffy back.

Liam doesn’t seem to realise that his paranoia over Thomas is one of the reasons Hope was pushed towards him in the first place. Also, he doesn’t see what he says about Hope’s unforgivable actions as totally hypocritical. She has forgiven him so many times for running back to Steffy that she is now sck of it and wants a devoted man to only her.
