It’s no secret that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are close to their parents, Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. But could Eugenie’s closeness to her cousin, Prince Harry be because she sees him as being treated the same way as her dad?
Anything is possible. In recent years, Eugenie has made it known that she does NOT like Catherine, the Princess of Wales. There was video footage of her barraging past the then-Duchess of Cambridge and not apologising. In addition, there have been rumours that Eugenie wasn’t happy that William married a middle-class woman, in other words, a “plain jane commoner.”
If this rumour is even remotely true, she forgets that her husband, Jack Brooksbank, is a commoner too, but he was born into money, unlike Catherine. However, we’re not here to discuss who’s better suited for royal life. We’re here to talk about Eugenie and Andrew. This post is in the Royals category, not Chronicles of Harkle, because the central focus is the Yorks, not the Sussexes.
Moving on, Prince Andrew was allegedly Her late Majesty’s favourite child, just as Harry was allegedly her favourite grandchild. The Queen knew her son was flawed (who isn’t?), and yes, she did bail him out, but he was very much loved. However, his choice of friends is still questionable, even today. So it is no wonder he ended up in that scandal with Virginia Roberts.
Shunning A Positive?
Any sane public person would want to keep their reputation intact. This is why much of the royal family keeps its distance from Andrew. Many royal watchers cannot understand that Andrew is still a family member and is therefore allowed to play a role at family events. That is why the Queen had him walk her down the aisle at Prince Philip’s memorial service.
If he were to attend a state occasion, there would be an even bigger uproar because he’s no longer a working royal, as he was forced to withdraw from royal life because of his alleged actions. Honestly, I have no issues with Andrew being at family events. It would seem unfair for him not to be there; however, if it were a state event, no. He wouldn’t need to be there.
Andrew Is A Brother Of The King
However, he is invited to the coronation because he is a brother of the King. Moreover, he is not allowed on the Buckingham Palace balcony as it is solely to show the monarchy’s future, or rather, the working members. Now, Beatrice understands and respects the traditions set in place by her late grandmother. She was close to her grandparents and cried at her grandfather Prince Philip’s memorial service.
I don’t know that much about Eugenie or Beatrice, for that matter. But I do know they almost didn’t get Princess titles when they were born. Why? Because they weren’t going to be working royals. They would’ve been ladies like their younger cousin, Lady Louise. According to Marie Claire UK, it’s alleged that Prince Andrew threw a tantrum over it. As per UK Constitutional Law dating back to 2021, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis almost didn’t get titles. Their great-grandmother stepped in before their elder brother, Prince George’s birth in 2013 and allowed all of Prince William’s children to have titles as it would save Charles from having to do it when he became King.
Not In My Inner Circle
Prince Andrew is a character I would not want in my inner circle, as he’s always given me weird vibes. Princess Eugenie’s loyalty to her dad is admirable. However, her support for Harry shows her unwillingness to accept that her connections might’ve helped cause her cousin to slip away. Does she realise how much this hurt their grandparents? Does she hate her Uncle Charles for allegedly leading the charge against Andrew? That is an answer I don’t have, but I would love to know.
The Markus Anderson Connection
Another question I would love to know is whether Eugenie knows that Meghan got close to her to use her for her connections. I’ve heavily researched Markus Anderson, and it appears many of his associates have royal links via Soho House. Given that he is involved with all the locations, it makes sense that he would have links to Eugenie.
We know this because of the photo of her having dinner with Harry and Meghan, included Markus Anderson. However, it was not Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank. The man’s face isn’t visible; you can tell by the sides of the man’s head that he has facial hair. Jack does not have facial hair. Also, there was no reference to him being with her in America.
In conclusion, does Eugenie side with Harry and Meghan because of her dad’s treatment? It’s entirely possible. The way I see it, she was used like Harry was to get Meghan into the royal family. However, if she were altogether complacent in Meghan’s megxit plan, she too would have been denylisted from state events. The fact she wasn’t shows that she may have realised something was up. Her backing of the Sussexes only led to the rumour about her being a mole. The last thing the Queen wanted was a civil war between her family as she and Prince Philip were dying. Finally, the dirty looks Eugenie and Jack gave the Sussexes at the Queen’s funeral seem to speak volumes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t explain why they walked behind the rest of the family at the recent easter church service.
