Who Are The Queen’s Children?

Queen's Children

Who are the Queen’s Children? – Her Majesty The Queen is a woman we all strive to admire. She has dedicated her entire life to service. However, her four children, with her late husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, have set their own paths.

We’ve spoken a lot about the Queen’s children on numerous occasions, but who are they really? That’s what this post is going to explain.

Charles, The Prince Wales

The eldest of the Queen’s children, Prince Charles, is destined to be king. Born Charles Philip Arthur George on November 18, 1948, the Prince of Wales has led a colourful life. At birth, he was known as Prince Charles of Edinburgh. He married Lady Diana Spencer on 29 July 1981. The marriage produced two sons, but the couple was not happy despite having children together. Both committed adultery.

Charles was still desperately in love with his former girlfriend, Camilla Shand, who had married Andrew Parker Bowles, an ex-boyfriend of his [Charles] younger sister, Anne. The Prince of Wales had met Diana in 1977 while he was dating her older sister, Lady Sarah Spencer. He later resumed his relationship with Camilla while still married to Diana.

In 1996, Charles and Diana divorced, sharing custody of their two sons. On August 31st, 1997, the Princess of Wales was killed in a Parisian car accident, leaving the Prince of Wales to raise his son as a solo parent. In 2005, Charles married Camila, who took the title Duchess of Cornwall, rather than use Princess of Wales, which she is entitled to use.

Outside of his love life, Charles is a strong supporter of environmental causes. He also supports alternative medicine. He also has five grandchildren.

Anne, Princess Royal

The only daughter and second child of Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh, Princess Anne is the very embodiment of her father. She’s uncompromising and unapologetic. Born on August 15 1950, as Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise, with her title being Princess Anne of Edinburgh.

Of all the Queen’s children, Anne is the hardest working royal. She has been married twice. Her first marriage was to Mark Phillips, the father of her son and daughter. In 1992 she and Captain Phillips divorced, and in the same year, she married Timothy Laurence.

In the early-70s, Anne and her first husband were caught up in a kidnapping attempt in which several people were hurt. The princess protected herself and told her would-be kidnapper where to get off.

She has five grandchildren and was third-in-line of succession at birth after her older brother, Charles. However, upon the births of her two younger brothers, Andrew and Edward, Anne slipped down a couple of places.

Prince Andrew, Duke Of York

Known as the Queen’s alleged favourite child, Prince Andrew was born after his mother acceded to the throne. Born on February 19 1960, as Andrew Albert Christian Edward, Andrew is the second son and third child of her Majesty and Prince Philip. Unlike his older brother and sister, Andrew is more controversial. He also is the only child of the Queen, who is not currently married.

Andrew has always loved being a royal. He loves the perks but is believed to be an absolute terror to his staff. His controversial friends and associates are why he keeps getting into trouble. He was married to Sarah Ferguson from 1986 to 1996, and they had two daughters. Andrew has two grandchildren and a stepgrandchild via his eldest daughter.

Upon his birth, Andrew pushed his older sister, Anne, down to third in the line of succession and he became second after Charles. At the time, male heirs took precedence over females.

Prince Edward, Earl Of Wessex

In conclusion, the youngest of the Queen’s children, Prince Edward is one we see the least of the four. Born on 10 March 10, 1968, as Edward Antony Richard Louis, he became the Earl of Wessex upon his marriage to Sophie Rhy-Jones in 1999. They are parents of a daughter and a son.

Of the Queen’s children, Edward is the only of who has not been divorced and/or remarried. He also is the only one who does not have grandchildren. At birth he was third-in-line for the throne, pushing his older sister, Anne, to fourth place.

Finally, Edward loves the Arts and is the patron of the Youth Theatre.
