We’ve been asking since the Season 1 finale. How is Sylvester still alive? Fans have been scratching their heads since Sylvester Pemberton showed up at the end of Season 1; how the HELL is he still alive? Well, we’re about to get an answer to that very question. In a sneak peek at next week’s Season 3 premiere, as per TV Line, they’ve been provided with a scene involving Starman living in the Whitmore-Dugan basement with Cosmo the Staff. Courtney has wandered down and has been wondering how he’s alive and if he wants the staff back. He assures her that he’s done with being a superhero and that the staff is hers. She admits that she didn’t ask him how he was alive as she figured it would’ve been rude. Sylvester tells her it’s okay as he’s still wondering that himself.
Sylvester explains to her that he was dead and that he had to dig himself out of his own coffin. Though, he says the one thing he did feel, was his connection to Cosmo.
What Does This Tell Us About Sylvester?
So, we don’t know why Courtney ventured down into the basement to talk to Sylvester, but we can waiver a guess, based on the dialogue. There was likely a conversation a few days before the one in the scene where Sylvester says something that makes her believe he’s going to take Cosmo back.
It’s also apparent that Sylvester’s bond with Cosmo is just as powerful as Courtney’s bond with Cosmo is. So much so, that Sylvester calls Cosmo, a “he”. This was a fact that Courtney wouldn’t have known.
We’re likely to get more context into the conversation when the episode airs. For now, though, Courtney doesn’t need to worry so much. Or does she?
