Andor is bringing back Mon Mothma, but will Senator Bail Organa and Queen Breha be referenced? It’s still unclear whether Jimmy Smits will reprise his role as Rebellion leader and Senator to Alderaan Bail Organa in Andor, the prequel series to Rogue One. So until we get an answer, we thought we’d explore whether the adoptive father of Princess Leia and his wife, Queen Breha, will be referenced in the show.

So, for those who might not know or might’ve forgotten, Bail had a small role in Rogue One, where he indirectly references Obi-Wan Kenobi. Leia appears at the end of the film to take the Death Star plans, which then branches into A New Hope. As we mentioned before, there is no confirmation whether Bail will appear, though there have been rumours. We’ve also discussed the politics in Andor. We should have also mentioned that Cassian is a Fulcrum agent as well, but didn’t.

The story would greatly benefit from having Bail pop up at least once. He played a pivotal role in Obi-Wan Kenobi in motivating Kenobi to rescue Leia. He indirectly twists the knife by mentioning Anakin and Padmé and how he had to help Luke’s sister. Moreover, being why Obi-Wan leaves Tatooine. By the end of that series, Old Ben and Leia had formed a very close bond.

We assume Bail will be referenced somehow, but he doesn’t need to appear physically. It could be a still hologram. We must remember that the rebellion is still in the early stages and hasn’t wholly formed. Even if the series is roughly four to five years away from the events of A New Hope.

What About Queen Breha’s Involvement In The Rebellion?

We need to consider Queen Breha and her involvement in the rebellion. We know she does play a part, but it’s not as big as her husband’s. She would’ve had to keep a lower profile as she is the leader of a planet serving in the Imperial Senate.

Also, Queen Breha’s sister, Celly, and brother-in-law, Kayo, were both Imperial Sympathisers as it gave them much wealth. This is something that was passed onto their son, Leia’s boorish cousin, Niano. This makes us think there might be flashbacks to Kenobi used if they chose not to film new stuff with Jimmy Smits and Simone Kessell. They could use the scene with the Organas from the first episode.

Also, we know that Breha is aware of the work her husband did with Leia’s biological mother. She also knew Padmé personally as well as Leia’s true heritage. Sometime after her adoptive parents’ deaths, Leia had a statue commissioned for one of the rebel bases.

We don’t need to see Breha know she’s involved with the rebellion. Just getting a reference is enough. Though, we do have to wonder if there will be flashbacks like those important ones in Kenobi.
