Jen was doing a good thing and then she was punished for it. A week flies by fast, that’s for sure. So, our girl Jen Walters finds herself in a bit of a predicament. After her fight with Titania in last week’s She-Hulk, she is fired from her job, despite the positive press coverage. Her boss fires her because he feels she’s going to be a liability. Every other law firm she applies to also rejects her for the same reason. Another thing we want to mention here before we continue is that Jen’s origin is different to what we originally reported.

When she heads to her family dinner, her family is incredibly supportive of her being a Hulk, especially her father, Morris. Though she does have a relative that tries to show her up with a job promotion.

Morris tells his daughter that they’re there for her. After all, it’s not the first time they’ve dealt with having a Hulk as a relative. Jen is thankful for her family’s support, though she’s fearful she won’t be able to get a new job.

While she’s at a bar, Holden Holliway, the guy Jen was working against in the courtroom, approaches her with a job. He tells her that his law firm is starting a superhuman law division and he wants her to be the face. However, there’s a catch. She has to represent Emil Blonsky, an enemy of Bruce’s from before he became an Avenger. If she doesn’t, she won’t get the job.

Jen Calls Bruce And Takes On Blonsky As A Client

Unsure of what to do, Jen rings Bruce and hardly allows him to get a word into the conversation. However, he knows what she’s going to tell him and tells her to take it. Bruce mentions that Blonsky sent him a letter and a haiku and that they’re different people. Literally.

Just a note, this is a reference to the recast of Bruce/Hulk from Edward Norton to Mark Ruffalo.

Anyway, Bruce is seen in a spaceship headed for Sakaar to find out why he and Jen were targeted. We think we know why. Going back to the thing with Morris, he mentions that she didn’t destroy an entire city when she Hulked out. He’s referring to when Bruce couldn’t control Hulk and Blonsky destroying Harlem in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk.

Blonsky’s Escape

Going back to Blonsky, Holliway assigns Jen the case, but she doesn’t want to take it because it’s a conflict of interest as he tried to kill Bruce. Her worries are instantly dismissed.

In her new office, Jen and Nikki meet a new friend and colleague Augustus “Pug” Pugliese, who gives them directions to the good bathroom. They learn he too is assigned to the Superhuman Law Division.

Upon accepting the task of taking on Blonsky’s case, Jen is told by Holliway to turn on the tv. The news is reporting that Blonsky has escaped and is engaged in a fighting ring. The footage of the fight is from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, indicating that the show is taking place during that movie.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
