Meghan Markle doesn’t know when to quit. She invited Oprah to the royal wedding despite only having met her once. Why?
Oprah Winfrey has been around basically ever. She has seen and done a lot in her career and is very well respected. So, how did she end up invited to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018? Well, The Mirror has revealed why the talk show queen got invited in the first place.
According to the publication, it was Oprah that had reached out to Meghan prior to the wedding via CBS. If what they’re saying is true, they’ve also said that originally their first meeting was only though overtures through the television network. After that, the television and film magnate offered a hand of friendship to the former actress and wanted to be a mentor towards her. She even became yoga pals with Doria, the duchess’ mother.
Oprah said that Doria loved Kumquats and asked if she wanted some as she had a tree full of small fruits. They even spent an afternoon doing yoga and snacking on desserts made from Kumquats.
Over time, Oprah worked to get an interview with Meghan and Harry and even worked with the prince on a documentary for Apple TV about Mental Health. Though, what does this have to do with the wedding invite? Well, it’s obvious the couple wanted her there as a support system for backing them up. Yeah, sure.
We all know the true reason why Oprah was there. She was just another A-list celebrity that no one in the royal family knew who wanted the biggest scoop; how Meghan was dealing with the massive change in her life; becoming royalty.
With the interview now having aired all over the world, it might be able to see what happens next in the Sussex-Oprah friendship.
