Henry Cavill Is OUT As Superman

Superman

Bye-bye, Henry and hello… whoever replaces him as Superman. The British actor and DC Film’s Co-CEO, James Gunn, have announced, as per Empire, that there will be a rebranding of the Man of Steel. The move comes after Gunn and Peter Safran took over as Co-CEOs and chairpeople of DC Films.

It was also announced that Gunn was writing a new Superman film where Kal-El would be portrayed as younger. At the time of writing, this is fresh information. Initially, it was announced that Cavill would return to the role after his cameo appearance in Black Adam.

It’s possible the underwhelming performance of Black Adam at the box office it’s likely that the dropping of Cavill was part of a contingency plan. Or it was always part of the plan. Moreover, whatever the case, it will be interesting to see what happens and who is cast in the role.

The scraping on Henry Cavill as Superman is fresh off the boat of Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 3 being cancelled. According to the aforementioned Empire article, Gunn and Safran already have a slate of films ready to go, and the young Superman movie is just one of them.

With the departure of Cavill, will this mean that every other actor associated with his version of Superman will be recast? Yes, that is likely going to be the case. Furthermore, we have a sneaking suspicion that the film will explain Clark’s early years, similar to how Matt Reeves wrote The Batman. In conclusion, when we have more information, we will give you all an update.
