Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Becomes Black Adam In New Image

Black Adam

He’s The Anti-Shazam!

We’re getting just a little closer to releasing the long-anticipated Black Adam film. With DC FanDome coming in a few days, the folks at Discussing Film have dropped an image of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on Twitter. Last year, we covered the Black Adam panel before the film started production. There is also an A-lister involved.

At this panel, The Rock announced the Justice Society of America lineup that would appear in the film. Doctor Fate. Atom Smasher. Cyclone. Hawkman. It has since been announced that Hawkman will be the leader of the JSA.

Black Adam is a character Johnson has been trying to get on the big screen for a long time. He has said that it has taken a decade, according to Corey Chichizola of Cinema Blend, in March 2020. However, we’re finally getting the film he always wanted to make. The first look is promising.

Going over the image, it doesn’t show us a lot. Again, though, we expect a lot of action – because, you know, it’s a Dwayne Johnson film – precisely what we want! It will also be incredible to see members of the JSA on the big screen for the first time.

Fingers crossed that we’ll get a Black Adam and Shazam fight. That would be amazing, especially after Teth-Adam is mentioned in the first Shazam! film, as the Wizard Shazam’s champion that betrayed him. If it happens, it will be interesting to see what leads up to that in Black Adam. Furthermore, it’ll depend on where the story heads.

In conclusion, the panel will reveal more, and we cannot wait to learn more. Hopefully, the cast will give a bit more insight into how the movie’s events will play out, and that makes us super excited.

Black Adam arrives in cinemas in July 2022.

Editor’s note: Black Adam’s release date has once again been moved to late October 2022.
