Steffy Forrester has every right to be worried about her brother, Thomas Forrester’s relationship with Brooke Logan‘s daughter, Hope Logan. Brooke is also concerned but for a different reason.
What makes it difficult is the history between Hope, Thomas, Steffy and Brooke. Steffy loves her brother. Brooke adores her daughters. Thomas and Hope?
Well, that’s another story altogether. Especially when it comes to Beth Spencer‘s supposed death and Thomas’ desire to keep everyone in the dark so he could have Hope and Steffy could have the family she’s always wanted with Liam Spencer.
As always, Thomas’s plan backfired when his own son, Douglas Forrester, revealed to Liam that his daughter was alive. There was the whole kidnapping thing and the forced marriage where Hope feared losing Douglas, whom she had adopted as her son after the death of his biological mother, Caroline Spencer.
Steffy And Brooke’s Concern Over Thomas’ Dangerous Hope Obsession
Steffy and Brooke have concerns but for different reasons.
Brooke is well aware of the trouble Thomas has caused for Hope over the years, while Steffy is worried her stepsister is stringing her brother along.
Thomas, in Brooke’s eyes, will never totally change his ways, while Steffy sees Hope as trouble.
Seeing Steffy and Brooke on (almost) the same page is incredibly rare. However, Steffy, like her father Ridge, is still blinded to who her brother truly is on the inside. Let’s pray that no one stoops to Zende’s level like he is with RJ.
If anything, Steffy and Brooke must team up and expose the situation. We all know what’s going to happen if they don’t do something about it. Thomas’ obsession with Hope will resurface, he’ll try something and Brooke will do her usual ‘I told you so’ routine.
Hope says she’s seen the change in Thomas, and while Steffy and Brooke have, too, how much longer will that last? Also, Thomas will never never stop wanting Hope. He has never wanted to marry anyone but her, and that is a borderline-obsessed stalker territory. Sure, he did marry that Gaby Moreno chick years ago to keep her in the country. But he cannot accept that Hope is not the right woman for him and never was.
Thomas’ Mental Health Issues
Thomas’ mental instability has been a source of drama over the years. For a long time, his main target was Hope’s brother, Rick, whom he tried to hurt multiple times. He tried to blow up his car and threw him either off a balcony or out a window.
We all know he used problematic waffler Zoe Buckingham to make Hope jealous, which didn’t work. Thomas is also known to blackmail people. In other words, he is a sick, twisted dude who cannot understand why he is not the centre of the universe.
Also, the whole thing where Thomas was at one point being treated by his mother is not something that should have happened as parents who are in the medical field are told they cannot treat their own family members. Yes, it’s a show and yes, Li treated Finn and Bridget did the same for Eric, but psychologically speaking Thomas could’ve pulled a fast one on Taylor because she would’ve been blinded to his antics and manipulation tactics as his mother.
We all know how obsessed Thomas has been with Hope over the years. He even kissed a mannequin that looked like her, which was evil as it talked back to him and seduced him. That is a story that gave out nightmare vibes or something from Satan’s realm.
Steffy needs to take her blinders off entirely and see what Brooke sees. Her brother always has schemes cooked up. A changed man doesn’t tell people he’s changed. He gets out there to prove himself. However, this is different from what Thomas does. He uses the blind faith his family has in him to cover his actions.
