The Percy Jackson universe covers a lot of Greek and Roman mythology, but it doesn’t cover everything. The books do not cover the family of hero trainer Chiron. His father is known to be Kronos, which makes six of the Olympian gods his half-siblings. But did you know that he has a wife and a stack of daughters? Yes, you read that correctly. Chiron has a wife and children.
Chiron’s wife is Chariclo, a nymph, according to Wikipedia. There isn’t much information on her outside of the names of their daughters, who are named Hippe, Endeïs and Ocyrhoe. According to Chariclo’s Wikipedia page, she and Chiron also had a son, Carystus, who is not referenced on Chiron’s Riordan Wiki page. Though, Carystus might be a daughter. It could depend on the source.
Moreover, Chiron also had another daughter, Mellanippe. The Riordan Wiki page for the character has a group of characters put as the “Pelionides Nymphs.” These are what the daughters we referenced above are. As per Greek Legends and Myths, many Pelionides Nymphs were not named. Though some, the ones above, are.
Chiron: Not Your Typical Family
Although his wife and children are not referenced in the series, Chiron has familial ties to some of his demigod students—Percy Jackson and Nico di Angelo. Since Poseidon and Hades are Percy and Nico’s fathers, respectively, Chiron is their uncle, as two of his half-brothers are Poseidon and Hades. Technically, if you want to be specific, he’s the two demigods’ half-uncle.
However, any avid Percy Jackson fan knows that gods don’t have DNA, and neither do the Titans. Kronos technically would be Percy’s grandfather.
