Princess Beatrice is becoming a favourite of ours due to her apparent loyal family morals – Prince Philip’s service of thanksgiving was last week, and the British royals were together in one place for the time in a while. While everyone is talking about how incredible the Cambridges looked and how nice it was to have some of the Queen and Prince Philip’s great-grandchildren there, most aren’t talking about Princess Beatrice.
The eldest of Prince Andrew and Fergie’s two daughters was on full display alongside her husband, Edo. Beatrice’s loyalty to her family shone at the memorial, especially when she burst into tears upon seeing her father walking her grandmother to her seat. She concealed her tears by hiding behind her programme for a moment. After composing herself, she lowers it.
It has become public knowledge that Beatrice was close to Prince Philip. Fifi The Cambridges posted a tweet crediting thehouseofwindsorr on Instagram for a video that features Beatrice talking about Prince Philip and how she cries whenever she speaks about him. It is a lovely gesture that shows how much he meant to her.
Footage from the memorial also shows Beatrice showing an adorable moment with her young cousin, Princess Charlotte. When Prince William and Catherine’s only daughter turns to look in Bea’s direction, Beatrice warmly smiles at her, and Charlotte returns it before she returns to the service. You certainly haven’t gotten this from Eugenie at this event.
Is There Frostiness Between Beatrice And Eugenie?
It has long been rumoured that Beatrice and Eugenie are at opposite ends of the royal family vs. the Sussexes. Eugenie is firmly Team Sussex, while her elder sister is Team Royal Family. There is a photo (see below) of Eugenie outside Westminister Abbey as she and her husband Jack arrive, and she looks utterly bitter.
We’re not sure whether Eugenie’s bitter face is aimed at her sister, the Cambridges, or someone else. Though, if we had to guess, it would’ve been at Beatrice as she and Edo – who looked very dashing and regal – walked in front of her and Jack.
We bring this up is because of reports that the York sisters are at each other throats. It also branches into the awkward exchanges seen during Catherine’s carols event.
Beatrice and Edo were friendly with William and Catherine, while Eugenie looked like she didn’t want to be there. While she went is anyone’s guess, though we suspect she went to gather intel for Harry and Meghan. Again, just a theory.
Eugenie has always been close to Harry and is friendly with Meghan, having (allegedly) been the first royal the former actress knew before she met Harry. If we’re honest, she and Harry are gutless. We referenced our thoughts on Harry not showing up briefly in our Defence Of Prince Andrew. There’s another post on the way about this.
Photos and footage from the event show that the sisters weren’t keen to mingle together.
Why We’re Liking Beatrice More Than Eugenie Right Now
We’ve always had a love-hate relationship with the York sisters. First, we liked Eugenie because she chose to include Princess Charlotte and Prince George in her wedding party. This allegedly was due to Meghan’s hatred for the then-three and five-year-old siblings. However, we believe this is no longer the case. Why she would include them could’ve just been a ruse until Archie was born. We don’t know, and honestly, we don’t care. She’s a backstabber if she is the Sussex snitch.
Going over to Beatrice, she appears to be the real deal. She didn’t have to smile at Charlotte, despite being on camera. She wanted to, and it is clear the smile is genuine when you watch the footage, despite how quick it is. It brings us comfort that the Cambridges have some support within the House of York. Whether we’ll see more of this is yet to be seen.
