Princess Josephine of Denmark, Countess of Monpezat, is the second daughter and youngest child of King Frederik X and Queen Mary. She has three older siblings: Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella and twin brother Prince Vincent, who is 26 minutes older.
The twins were born on January 8 2011. Josephine’s name was announced at her and Vincent’s christening as Josephine Sophia Ivalo Mathilda. There was a little confusion as her mother had announced Josephine as “Josephina,” and it had to be clarified which was correct.
Princess Josephine is the first Danish royal child not to wear the traditional christening gown as her twin brother wore it. Instead, she wore a Christening gown found in the belongings of her paternal great-grandmother, Queen Ingrid, the mother of her grandmother, Queen Margrethe II.
She is the seventh grandchild of Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik. Also, she is fourth in line for the throne after Christian, Isabella, and Vincent.
