Aurors are almost like the wizarding police in the world of Harry Potter. After the Wizarding War, Harry becomes an auror alongside his best friend and brother-in-law, Ron Weasley, who later quits, joining his brother, George, at his joke shop, Weasley Wizard Wheezes.
Throughout Harry’s adventures, he encounters many Aurors. However, the role existed well before Harry’s birth. Let’s look at some of the most famous Aurors to have lived.

- Tina Goldstein (later Scamander) – American wife of Newt Scamander, sister of Queenie Goldstein, sister-in-law of Theseus Scamander and Jacob Kowalski.
- Percival Graves (impersonated by Gellert Grindelwald)
- Theseus Scamander – brother of Newt Scamander and brother-in-law of Tina Goldstein, fiancé of the late Leta Lestrange
- Abraham Potter (ancestor of the Potter family) – one of the original 12 American Aurors
- Alastor “Mad Eye” Moody – an old friend of Albus Dumbledore and mentor and father figure to Nymphadora Tonks
- Frank Longbottom – husband of Alice Longbottom, father of Neville Longbottom and son of Augusta Longbottom – was tortured into insanity by Bellatrix Lestrange and Barty Crouch Jr
- Alice Longbottom – wife of Frank Longbottom, daughter-in-law of Augusta Longbottom and mother of Neville Longbottom – was tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange and Barty Crouch Jr

- Nymphadora Tonks – daughter of Ted and Andromeda Tonks, student of Alastor Moody, wife of Remus Lupin, mother of Teddy Lupin – killed by her aunt Bellatrix Lestrange

- Neville Longbottom – resigned so he could become the Herbology professor at Hogwarts, married Hannah Abbott, the godfather of Albus Potter
