A few months ago, we got the exciting news that Percy Jackson and the Olympians would be adding a Season 2, meaning we’re getting Sea of Monsters! In this post, we wanted to cover the characters that will likely appear in the season.
We’ll cover the book characters at a later date.
Some of the characters who appear in the next season have already been introduced in Season 1. We’ll also go over those who are a question mark. Just a side note. Season characters have not been confirmed yet, and it might take a while until they are confirmed. We’re only going off the book characters.
Which Season 1 Characters Will Appear PJO Season 2?
Outside of Percy, Annabeth and Grover, we suspect that Clarisse will have a role in the Sea of Monsters season as she has a large role in the book. Luke will also have a role in the story as Princess Andromeda was mentioned by someone in the cast.
Hermes will likely appear again in Season 2 (Sea of Monsters) when he was supposed to debut, as his first appearance was in Book 2. However, he appeared in Season 1 as set up for Luke’s story later.
Ares will probably appear given Clarisse’s role will be larger.
Sally, Percy’s mother, will probably appear too.
Chiron and Mister D will likely pop up too.
Chris will likely appear as well, and he plays a part in Clarisse’s story. He originally appears from Book two onwards.
Character Question Marks
So, there are characters in Season 1 who may be a question mark at least for now.
The two biggest ones are Zeus and Poseidon. Neither character appears in the second book. But it didn’t stop the writers from including Hermes and Hephaestus in Season 1. They don’t appear in the books until later. Hermes is introduced in Sea of Monsters and Hephaestus in Battle of the Labyrinth, respectively.
We mention this because Tyson is revealed to be a son of Poseidon, and Thalia, who likely will appear in the show, is a daughter of Zeus. At some point, there might be a flashback to Zeus turning Thalia into a tree, though we might not see him do it on screen. Also, Zeus would have to be recast as Lance Reddick died weeks after his casting for Season 1 was announced. Though, we do not expect the characters to appear.

Characters That May Appear
So, characters that might appear include Tyson, Percy’s Cyclops half-brother, Circe, Connor and Travis Stoll (they replace Luke as head of the Hermes cabin), Charles Beckendorf, Silena Beauregard, the Party Ponies and Thalia Grace.
