There’s drama coming, and Cameron is the common denominator. We’ve got three more synopsises for Season 3, which have to do with Cameron Mahkent. Sweet, innocent Cameron, right? Ah. We’re not sure. Episodes 4, 5, & 6 centre around the growing relationship between Icicle’s now-powered son and our girl Courtney. Before we jump into our talking points, let’s see what the synopsises say. Also, a friendly reminder, we want Season 4 to happen. And someone gets blackmailed! Be sure to check out our post on everything we know about Season 3.
Before we do that, however, we want to thank our friends (and affiliates) at Stargirl Wiki and the people over at Stargirl TV for the synopsises. Also, it’s strange that half a season’s synopsises come out in a short space of time.
BACK TO THE SCENE OF THE CRIME — After one of Sylvester’s plans results in an unexpected outcome, Pat calls upon an old friend for help. Meanwhile, Beth uncovers a new suspect in their murder investigation, and Courtney reaches out to Cameron.
SECRETS AND LIES — As Courtney continues to secretly help Cameron, the team notices she’s pulling away from her role as the JSA leader. Mike and Jakeem approach Cindy with a proposition. Finally, Yolanda’s decision to follow her intuition leads her to make a shocking discovery.
CLASHING FRENEMIES — After learning that Courtney has been spending time with Cameron, Pat and Barbara go on a recon mission at the Mahkents. Meanwhile, Sylvester steps in to fill the void left by Courtney, and tensions between Yolanda and Cindy reach new heights.
Mahkent Heavy Storylines
It appears that we’re going to learn more about the Mahkents during this season. Anyone following this site for a while will know we love the mysticism behind who the Mahkents are and how they’re involved in the larger story.
Courtney Reaches Out To Cameron
Now, why would Courtney need to reach out to Cameron? This is what the synopsis for episode 4 is saying. We know that Cameron is in episode 2, and this is what the cast list for the episode is. Also, the trailer footage from a while ago is from the first couple of episodes, which is the norm regarding television trailers.
If we’re using the trailer footage as a guide, Courtney learns about Cameron’s powers in episode 2, which might also be when the (hopeful) kiss happens. Moreover, this may lead into episode 4 as Cameron is not in Episode 3, from what we know. Of course, we could be wrong, but we’ll find out when we get closer to the episode.
Could the kiss be interrupted like last time, and Courtney reaches out to apologise? Perhaps, there’s a clue in the murder investigation that indicates Cameron or his grandparents, and that’s why she reaches out.
Cameron And Courtney Get Busted
The synopsis for episode 5 is the one that stands out. The wording tells us that Courtney is helping Cameron, but doing what? Also, it looks like the JSA is beginning to sense something weird is going on as Courtney is less enthusiastic than usual and not as in tune as their leader. Moreover, it will be Yolanda who outs them and reports back to Barbara, Pat, and probably the rest of the team.
We know that Yolanda and Rick would be deadset against any form of relationship Cameron and Courtney have. We got small glimpses of this last season. First, Yolanda constantly tried to prevent interaction between the two and failed. Then there was that fierce stare-off between Rick and Cameron where Rick was called a jerk.
However, Beth hasn’t had any interaction with Cameron in the series. So it’s hard to tell she’d lean into this argument. Would she bow to pressure to side with the others? It’s possible. We’ll cover the episode when it airs full, but we can feel the tension now.
Pat And Barbara Stage An Intervention
Given our prediction that it’s Yolanda who busts Cameron and Courtney, she’ll go straight to Pat and Barbara, leading us into the third synopsis. Pat and Barbara are going to spy on the Mahkents. That ought to be fun to watch. Lily and Sofus now hate Barbara because she rejected Jordan, despite being married to Pat. Yeah, it doesn’t get weirder than that.
Since the episode’s name is ‘The Betrayal’, Yolanda’s outing of Courtney could be the betrayal, or it could have something to do with her parents doing recon at the Mahkent house as they don’t trust Lily and Sofus or Cameron by the sounds of it. What’s more, it sounds like Courtney gets grounded as Sylvester steps in to lead the JSA in her absence, and it instantly causes problems.
We’re praying this doesn’t turn into a similar situation with Yolanda last season, where her mother banned her from being Courtney’s friend. Pulling Cameron and Courtney apart is bound to cause issues for several reasons.
Yes, Jordan is Cameron’s dad, but don’t Pat and Barbara trust their daughter? Courtney knows there was a chance Cameron would’ve developed powers. However, she was the one who bought it up with Pat, not the other way around. After all, Jordan did ‘kill’ Sylvester Pemberton.
Could this have more to do with protecting Mike from the Mahkents’ wrath if the truth gets out? Possibly.
Is Cindy About To Join Infinity Inc?
Moving away from the Mahkents, we noticed something interesting in the synopsis for episode 5. Mike and Jakeem are going to proposition Cindy. So, this makes us wonder if they will invite her to join Infinity Inc.
This will be interesting for a couple of reasons. The first is that Cindy tried to kill Mike at one point. Also, we wonder if she’ll turn them down because she’s a part of the JSA. However, this could go in a different direction where the JSA turn her down (thanks, Rick and Yolanda!), and she’s desperate. Hence, she agrees to join Infinity Inc. Actually, that brings us to our final point, Yolanda and Cindy’s conflict.
Tensions Rise Between Yolanda And Cindy
Since Season 1, Yolanda and Cindy have hated each other. So much so that Cindy wanted top billing. She wanted to be the top dog at BVHS, so much so that she sabotaged Yolanda’s student president campaign by sending nude pictures around the school that she had stolen from Henry Junior’s phones.
We know that Yolanda was the first person Cindy went to for permission to join the JSA. Cindy knows that Courtney will say yes. However, it’s Yolanda, who is her second in command, that she has to convince.
Courtney usually doesn’t do anything without the team’s approval, including recruiting Cindy. Yolanda and Rick would say “no” straight up. There’s no getting around it, as both have their reasons. Beth, however, is always willing to give people a go, though Shiv is something else entirely.
Beth did tell Courtney in Season 1 that after Cindy’s mother died, “she became the scariest kid in the fourth grade.” After that, though, there was a rumour that Beth and Cindy would interact.
Stargirl Season 3 premieres this week.
