Did search terms for how to start a blog really surge after the announcement of The Tig’s trademark being renewed? When I saw this story, it made me question where the information came from as it was published in a publication that prints anything and everything without checking facts first. If you haven’t guessed already, I’m talking about the Express. I’m not criticising the journalist who wrote it, but I do have choice words for the publication; check your facts. I searched Google Trends; the Express article uses Design Bundles as its source, but the website supplies resources for social media pages and blog media kits. I don’t understand why it would be used to search for starting a blog when it is not an analytics website.
Also, “how to start a blog?” search inquiries didn’t spike to 800%, as Express claims. According to Google Trends, which is more accurate, it only spiked 400% over the last twelve months under the search term, “how to start a blog and get paid.”
As for The Tig, well, when I typed it into Google Trends, it didn’t come up the way I expected. Instead of Meghan’s former blog, it came up with results for actress Tig Notaro.
After I did this, I tweaked the search and added “blog” at the end of “The Tig” search to make it “The Tig blog.” It did NOT turn out great. As you can see in the below screenshot, there wasn’t enough data to get results.
As you can see from above, there were enough results to get a look where the searches were coming from but nothing else. For those who can’t make out where the searches were done, you’re looking at the UK and the US.
What The “How To Start A Blog?” Search On Design Bundles Really Looks Like
I also searched the Design Bundles site to see what the inquiries came up with. I did two separate searches. The first one is on “How to start a blog?” and the second is on “blog”. Here’s a comparison side-by-side.
Not a lot comes up when you search “how to start a blog” as you can see.
The Tig Isn’t As Popular As The Squad Wants You To Think
To finish this post, despite what Meghan and her followers what you to believe, The Tig isn’t popular. Very few people had heard of it before she and Harry had gotten together. Thinking back on that interview I found (which I can no longer find), I think she pulled the 30k views figure out of her butt. She wanted people to think she was a big deal. Also, just because you have 3Million followers on Instagram doesn’t mean every single one is legit. She could’ve had bots following her or she bought followers.
The Kardashian-Jenners lose thousands of subs all the time. They all have twenty times if not more followers than Meghan did. My question is this. How does an unknown actress earn 3Million Instagram followers when her more accomplished Suits co-star, Gina Torres, has over 300k followers?
If she did buy followers, this would’ve fooled Harry, who had a secret Instagram account himself (thank you, Omid Scobie, for unintentionally confirming this in Finding Freedom), that she was accomplished. Classic narcissistic move if I’ve ever seen one.
