Is The Tig About To Resurface?

Tig; rumours

It looks like Meghan Markle is returning to the lifestyle blog stratosphere. According to Charlotte Griffiths and Caroline Graham of the Daily Mail, the former royal attempts to resurrect The Tig, which she started in 2014, the year after her divorce from her first husband, Trevor Engelson. Inspired by her favourite wine, the then-actress wrote about fashion, food, and what she dubbed “women’s empowerment.” Now, she is trying to have the trademark reinstated. We spoke about the site’s possible reemergence a while ago, where we mentioned there might be a sub-branch called TigTots.

TigTots, at the time of our original post, was likely inspired by Archie. Now that Lilibet is born, Meghan may enter the “mommy blog” niche. We shudder at the prospect of this becoming a literal reality. She will see herself as the Queen of the mommy blogger and tell other women how to parent.

The Mommy Blog Tig

However, we don’t know what the new Tig (if it happens) will entail. It could be the same as the original. She may keep the OG Tig domain. Then, she might create another one for TigTots and form a network like Mamamia has. Goop may become her competitor for a lifestyle brand award if she plays her cards right. Though we say this with pure sarcasm, who wouldn’t want a candle that smells like Gwyneth Paltrow’s wahoo?

We believe she will hit a massive snag in making The Tig hit goals. When she was an unknown actress, Meghan flew under the metaphorical radar. She claims in an interview three weeks after she launched the site that she got 30k views a day or something along those lines. There’s no way to prove this, and given her track record of lying, we’re not taking anything she says at face value.

The Tig Won’t Take Off

Now that Meghan is a household name (literally), thanks to her more famous in-laws, her creditability is shot. People are aware of her lies during the Oprah interview to discredit the royals. Every time she opens her mouth, she digs deeper into her thought process. For so long, she has believed she is telling the truth when there’s evidence to prove she’s not.

To have the Tig resurface and not do as well as she thinks should shake her into realisation. After all, her other post-royal projects have tanked. 40×40 is the perfect example. The story alleges that she had a ton of merchandise produced, but the initiative failed to take off, with no progress being made.

In conclusion, Meghan has lost fans rather than gained them. If the Tig does return, only her fans will clamour for it. No one will care as it will be one woke post after another like it was before. Not to mention, if she does reuse the only site, she will probably remove all the old content to avoid people realising she has lied about every corner of her life. Sorry to break it to you, sugar squad, but you can still access a large portion of the site through the Wayback machine, and people have screenshots.
