The Bold And The Beautiful

You Don’t Need To Be Married To Be A Family! – Bold And The Beautiful Is Getting Stupid!

The Bold and the Beautiful is suddenly stuck in the 1950s when the stereotype was to the outside world that couples with children have to be married to be a family. Thomas Forrester, proposing to Hope Logan for the second in as many weeks is proving problematic.

Why? Thomas, his father and sister, Ridge and Steffy Forrester, are making it seem like the worst thing in the world that Hope said no. They expected her to be ready to marry Tommy Boy when he asked like she was his puppet.

Yet, we have Steffy, manipulating her brother into turning against Hope, denying she is doing such a thing and declaring that her on-off stepsister is just like her mother, Brooke Logan. How many times can one person proclaim their long-time arch-rival to be using someone like a sex toy? Don’t the writers know any other synonyms?

You Do Not Need To Be Married To Be A Family

You don’t need to be married to your child’s co-parent to be a family. Look at Brooke and Deacon Sharpe. Hope resulted from an affair they had when he was with Bridget, yet they are still a family. Also, look at Steffy and Liam; they’re not married, but they’re still a family with Kelly.

Brooke understands where Hope is coming from as she has seen the pain Liam put her daughter through time and time again. Who else was caught up in that drama? Oh, right, Steffy. There wouldn’t have been multiple weddings if Steffy hadn’t stolen Liam from Hope countless times.

If anything, Liam and Hope might’ve had multiple children by now, but no. Steffy had to steal him from Hope and have his first child. I’m not blaming Kelly for any of this, but her mother is the one who is doing the manipulating.

Thomas: The Gullible

Thomas is a gullible twit who only thinks about his own self-interest while ignoring Hope’s concerns. Why? Because he’s Ridge Forrester’s favourite son. It’s no wonder that RJ was not too happy to see his brother when he returned to Los Angeles.

As Hope says in a recent episode, Steffy is hellbent on destroying her brother’s happiness due to the uncertainty in her life. Hope is right in a way. Why? Well, Finn is still grieving the monster that was his biological mother, Sheila Carter, despite the horrid things she did to them.

In the most recent episode, Finn calls his wife out on reigniting the Forrester-Logan feud. The hot doctor has every reason to be upset. He and Hope have become good friends because they have messy family dynamics—him with Sheila and her with Deacon. Women and men can be friends without having to jump into bed.

Furthermore, their almost step-sibling dynamic was dodged due to Sheila’s death at Steffy’s hand. Now, what Steffy did was total self-defence; there is no denying that the she-devil broke into her house and tried to kill her.

The Sheila Complex

Sheila didn’t understand Steffy’s reasons why she was not to come near Finn or Hayes, but the murderous vixen didn’t get it. Also, Hope said she wanted nothing to do with her dad until Sheila was gone, as she couldn’t put her kids at risk.

Finn, however, was conflicted because Sheila is his birth mother. Never mind that she shot him and left him and his wife to die in an alley.

Returning to the married family thing, Hope is guarding her heart since Liam dropped her the second he saw her kissing Thomas. Here’s the thing. She gave him so many chances when she learned about him and Steffy during those times. So, she kisses his rival one time, and it is all over? Did he not think about Beth and what that would do to her? After all, he is ‘Dollar Bill’ Spencer’s son. Bill jumps between women. He did it with Katie and Brooke for years.

Let’s not forget dear ol’ “Pro-Forrester” Ridge. He, like Bill, jumps between women like there is no tomorrow. He jumps between Brooke and Taylor Hayes whenever something goes horribly wrong with his “destiny.”

Watch Out, Steffy

Steffy had better watch herself because Finn could get sick of her whining that Hope is her mother’s daughter, and he could walk out on her. Knowing her, she will probably blame Hope for her husband leaving. In our opinion, Finn is a better match for Hope as he understands what she deals with. He sees that his wife is not the nicest person.

Another thing we need to mention is even young Douglas thinks his parents need to be married for the three of them to be a family. Just because Hope doesn’t want to marry Thomas immediately doesn’t mean she won’t be ready in the future. She does not want to rush into something that could falter after a few months. Brooke has said the same thing, yet Ridge, Steffy and Thomas do not understand where Hope is coming from.

If it were Steffy that Brooke or Hope were trying to force into a marriage with, say, Liam, that she didn’t want, Ridge would tell them to back off.

Pot Meet Kettle

So, when Brooke says the same thing to Ridge and Steffy about Hope not wanting to get married yet, they hate on her, proclaiming Thomas is a pawn in some sick game. Ridge and Steffy act like they’re mightier than thou when they’ve done many dodgy things.

One example was, again, against Thomas. Look at what Ridge did to his own son when Douglas was born. He claimed he was the boy’s father because he felt his “boy” wasn’t ready to be a parent after he discovered what Thomas had done to Caroline while she was under the influence of drugs, which led to Douglas’ conception.

Let’s not forget that Steffy had to undergo two paternity tests for both of her children. One for Kelly and one for Hayes. Vinny, Thomas’ now-dead buddy, switched the results so that Thomas could have Hope and Steffy and Liam could get back together. However, Thomas knew immediately that he had switched the results and called him out. This was around the time where Vinny committed suicide by jumping in front of Liam and Bill’s car as he wanted Liam to take the fall for his death. However, the truth go out and everything ended up fine.

Steffy needs to watch herself. She will lose everything due to her behaviour. She can blame Hope for all she pleases, but people see her for who she is. A woman who cannot let anyone be happy.
