Who Played Sabine Wren In Star Wars?

Sabine, Natasha, Tiya,

Sabine Wren will be a crucial player in Ahsoka. Tiya Sircar (Alex Inc) originated the role in Star Wars Rebels. Australian actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Day Shift, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny) takes over the role in live-action, marking the Mandalorian graffiti artist’s live-action debut. A Mandalorian warrior, Sabine is taught by Ahsoka Tano in the aftermath of Kanan Jarrus’s death in lightsaber combat.

Tiya introduced the audience to Sabine’s stubbornness and humour. At the same time, Natasha will take the physical aspects of the character’s prowess as a warrior and throw them into the live-action realm.

Sabine is a formidable opponent who has wielded the darksaber, the former weapon of the Mandalorian Jedi, Tarre Vizsla. She then handed the weapon to its rightful owner, Bo-Katan Kryze, the true leader of Mandalore. Moreover, she has also gone after Fenn Rau, a warrior who shot down and almost killed Hera Syndulla.

It’s clear from Natasha’s portrayal of Sabine that she is doing Tiya proud by continuing where she left the character in 2018 when Rebels ended. The stubbornness is very much present in the trailers, and so is the snark.

While we’ve seen her relationship with Ahsoka in the trailer, it will be interesting to see how Natasha’s iteration of Sabine meshes with Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s version of Hera Syndulla and Eman Esfandi’s Ezra Bridger.

In conclusion, there is so much to the character of Sabine that we have yet to see in Ahsoka. It will fascinating to see how Natasha handles the lightsaber scenes as she appears to be fighting Ivanna Sakhno’s Shin Hati in the trailers. Finally, will she get to fight the late Ray Stevenson’s Baylan Skoll too? Only time will tell.
