As we come closer to Ahsoka, we want to express our gratitude to all the actors who have put their creative talents to the test to bring our favourite characters together. First up, we have C1-10P, better known as Chopper. So, who plays or instead voices him, you might ask? Well, it’s Dave Filoni, the creator of the character. Yes, we’re not kidding. This is nothing new in Star Wars. George Lucas has a cameo in Revenge of the Sith, and his three eldest children appeared in each of the prequel movies.
Dave Filoni, for those who mightn’t know, was taught personally by George Lucas. They created The Clone Wars together. Even after George retired from Lucasfilm, he visited the set of The Mandalorian and even held the Grogu puppet.
Moreover, Dave isn’t big on appearing onscreen, even if Jon Favreau insists on him popping up in The Mandalorian as Trapper Wolf. He was also the showrunner of Star Wars Rebels. As for his role as Chopper, it serves as a mystery during the show’s run who voices the little war criminal.
Dave Made Chopper The Evil, Criminal Mastermind He Is
Let’s call Chopper what he truly is, shall we? Furthermore, he hates other droids and kicks them out of airlocks. Anyway, it wasn’t until the Rebels series finale it was revealed that Dave himself voiced Chopper for the entirety of the show’s run. Who would’ve thought he was such a criminal mastermind?
In conclusion, Dave is not the first Star Wars crew member to voice droids. Sound engineer Matthew Wood voices General Grievous and the Battle droids.
