Editor’s Edit: As of Part Five of Ahsoka, it was revealed that Ariana Greenblatt played Teenage (Clone Wars era) Ahsoka.
Ahsoka Tano has become a fan favourite character in Star Wars. After a short stint as one of the most despised characters, she has become an essential part of Anakin Skywalker’s story. Initially voiced by Ashley Eckstein in animation, Rosario Dawson has been honoured to play the character in live-action, beginning with The Mandalorian Season 2 episode, The Jedi.
As we come closer to the Ahsoka series, we’re beginning to see how different Ashley and Rosario play the character while keeping the portrayal close to the original depiction. Moreover, a rumour has been that a third actress will play the character. Savannah Steyn, who played teenage Laena Velaryon in House of the Dragon, will possibly play Clone Wars-era Ahsoka. It’s never been 100% confirmed if she will be in the series, as the source was a third party and not an industry source. We don’t know if the casting is true until the show debuts.
Ashley And Rosario Are Passionate About Playing Ahsoka
Ahsoka’s involvement in all the media she has appeared in, regardless if Ashley or Rosario plays her, it is to highlight another side to Anakin that we never saw in the prequels. That is the role of the teacher. Ahsoka’s role in Skywalker’s life becomes almost like that of a little sister. Meanwhile, he is like her annoying big brother. It’s humbling, and Ashley does a fantastic job bouncing off Matt Lanter’s Anakin.
Anakin hasn’t gotten much mention in live-action, but she is acquainted with Luke. But we don’t know whether she knows about his father’s redemption. He could have told her, but it wasn’t mentioned on-screen during The Book of Boba Fett. Rosario was incredible in these scenes. It shows how passionate she is about the character. Finally, this is the same way Ashley is when she voices the animated version.
Third Actress IS NOT Savannah Steyn
A rumour that ended up being true came out a few days before Ahsoka episode 5 debuted. It was said that Ariana Greenblatt, best known for playing young Gamora in the MCU and the recent Barbie movie, played teenage Ahsoka in episode 5.
