First, there was the murderer, and then someone was blackmailed. Stargirl Season 3 is delving into the murder mystery genre this season, and someone will be blackmailed in the third episode. The possibilities of who the target could be are anyone’s guess. We’re not to go into detail on this just yet as we haven’t seen the episode yet as it’s still a couple of weeks away.

So, here’s the synopsis for the episode, courtesy of the episode page created by our friends at Stargirl Wiki:

FINDING BALANCE — Courtney and the JSA receive an anonymous tip that could help in their murder investigation. Meanwhile, after being told to find balance, Sylvester looks into potential jobs in Blue Valley, while also trying to figure out who he is without his Starman identity.

Synopsis as posted on the Stargirl S03E03 page of Stargirl Wiki

We’re not going too much into this now because we don’t know who is murdered. Nor do we know who the suspects are, so it’s hard to predict their motives. So, if we had to guess, the murder victim might be Steven Sharpe. We think this is because he is only in one episode that we know of. He’s not mentioned as being in episode two or three. Also, he’s listed in episode one as being a guest star, as with his other appearances in Season 1.

Potential Blackmailers

We did a whole theory post on Sharpe a while ago on why he’s back in Blue Valley. However, who could be ruthless enough to have blackmailed someone? We can think of a few people who all have ties to ISA.

  • Lily and Sofus Mahkent
  • Paula Brooks and Crusher Crock
  • Richard Swift
  • Mister Bones
  • Nurse Love
  • Sam Kurtis

Even Sharpe can be put on this list if he isn’t the victim. Lily and Sofus are standouts given how they were willing to cover up William Zarick’s death without question. If they’re the blackmailers, they could be protecting Cameron if he’s done something. Meanwhile, Paula and Larry are doing everything they can to fit into the neighbour. What if they slip up? It’s entirely possible they got blackmailed into doing something that could blow their good civilian routine. We just threw Sam Kurtis in for good measure.

The Shade is a strong possibility, but we don’t think he would jeopardise his camaraderie with Barbara. Nurse Love and Mister Bones are probably up there with Lily and Sofus as they’re keeping Todd Rice away from his sister, Jennie. We’ll cover this again when we’ve watched the episodes.
