Why is Steven Sharpe back in Blue Valley? Stargirl Season 3 is almost upon us, and the trailer released the other day bought light on a surprising returning character, Steven Sharpe, aka The Gambler. The Stargirl Wiki reported this on their Twitter account the day of the Chicago fan event.

So, we thought it would be fun to develop a few mini theories about why Sharpe is back in Blue Valley after all this time. We’re marking this post as having spoilers, just in case some of what we see when he does show up is true. So, without further ado, let’s dive into our Steven Sharpe mini theories.

1. Could Sharpe Be After Beth?

During Season 1’s finale, Sharpe ended up with a new enemy in the form of Beth Chapel, the successor to his rival, Charles McNider. However, the new Doctor Mid-Nite could beat him at his own game by hacking into his bank accounts and transferring every dime he had to charities in need. This was incredibly satisfying, especially when he was a narcissist and didn’t take anyone’s thoughts seriously.

So, could Sharpe be back in Blue Valley for revenge against Beth? It’s entirely possible. Given that the season is subtitled “Frenemies”, it’s likely that he might attempt to “befriend” Beth, and they have to work together. However, it has been said that the season will involve a murder mystery. Pagey mentioned this in his latest Stargirl video.

2. Could Steven Become A Murder Victim?

Speaking of murder mystery, could it be possible that Sharpe becomes a murder victim? We know that Mister Bones is the main villain for the season, and from what the comics have shown, he has a cyanide touch, which kills instantly.

Could it be possible that Sharpe gets on his bad side and ends up dead? The show has seen weirder things, such as hallucinations of people long dead. Look at what happened with Henry and Brainwave. Even Jordan appeared to Barbara Whitemore. Also, could he become an enemy of Jordan’s family? Sofus is currently a question mark as to which side he will choose.

3. Could The Crocks Be The Reason Sharpe Is Back?

Season 1 established a pattern amongst the Injustice Society; they primarily hate each other’s guts. After all, they were able to bring down the Justice Society of America when they were at their lowest due to Rebecca McNider’s death at Eclipso’s hand.

However, the rivalry between Sharpe and the Crocks is rather tense. Remember when Paula reprimanded him for being a litterbug? She was dead serious, given how quickly her mask fell. So, could it be possible that he arrives back in Blue Valley to get some use out of them? Could he frame them for something? Perhaps they call him for something. It will be interesting to see if this is the case.

4. Could Sharpe Get A False Promise Of Money?

Sharpe is a sucker for money. There are no two ways about it. So, could it be possible that he is lured back to Blue Valley on the promise of a big payout? Anything’s possible. As Chuck tells Beth, there’s nothing the Gambler loves more than his money.

5. Could The American Dream Play A Part In Sharpe’s Return?

Since Sharpe is the CFO of Jordan Mahkent’s business, The American Dream, he can’t stay underground forever. By the time, Season 3 rolls, roughly a year will have passed since Mike Dugan killed Jordan. Despite this, the American Dream has continued to operate, but how long can it remain operational without the backing of its Chief Financial Officer?

The trailer shows that he’s still dressed in his fancy outfits, and he has AirPods which are not cheap to the average person. Something tells us that he has a secret bank account that not even Jordan was aware of that he used in case of being on the verge of being caught.

After all, the entirety of the ISA was shut down due to the lack of members. Jordan, Dragon King, Henry Snr, William, and Anaya were all dead. The Shade was no longer a member, and Crusher and Paula were both sent to prison. Sharpe was the only person not to be any of those things.

Another thought we had is that Sharpe returns but wants to take over by throwing money at the business. We don’t know how much Barbara’s role in the business. However, she does sit at the head of the table during meetings as Jordan did. So, she is the big boss or is there someone above her? Given Sharpe’s position as the CFO, he would technically be above her in the business hierarchy.
