What The Ahsoka Panel DIDN’T Reveal

Ahsoka, Trailer, breakdown

The Ahsoka panel at Star Wars Celebration Europe gave a few surprising reveals while not confirming certain things that have come out in recent months. At the same time, there may be a reason why this might’ve been. That’s what we’re going to cover here.

Many sources in this post are usually credible, but no source is ever 100% accurate. So we’ll mention where possible if it could be wrong.

Okay, so let’s begin with what was confirmed a couple of years ago by the Hollywood Reporter. In October 2021, THR’s Borys Kit released an exclusive revealing that Hayden Christensen would reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in Ahsoka. However, this has not been officially confirmed through Lucasfilm channels and wasn’t revealed at the panel, despite Hayden being at Celebration during the panel.

There might be an explanation for this. Not every character was confirmed. The reason? Because it’s a vast cast, and some might be kept under wraps as surprises for when the show does air. One of those characters is likely Zeb, who appeared in The Mandalorian a few episodes back. Why would he be introduced there and not be in Ahsoka? Dave Filoni said at Paley Fest, as the Parks and Con Twitter account mentioned, that our favourite Lasat walked off-screen to talk to someone the audience knows. He wanted the audience to understand but said we’d have to wait. If we had to guess, it might’ve been Hera, given her position as a military leader for the new Republic.

Surprise Appearance?

Going back to Hayden for a moment. His appearance might be one of those surprises like Zeb was in Mando. Also, this might be why we didn’t get the casting for young Ahsoka either. Nerdgazm wrote in mid-December 2022 that their source was MakingStarWars.net. MSW isn’t always accurate, but neither is The Hollywood Reporter. However, THR is more credible. We’ll have to see what happens there. If the information is correct, then House of the Dragon’s Savannah Steyn would play a young version of Ahsoka.

Another casting that wasn’t part of the reveals at the Ahsoka panel was Ezra—the casting of Eman Esfandi has been known for a while, like with Hayden. This was another Borys Kit piece for The Hollywood Reporter, this time with Aaron Couch co-reporting. Also, there was no reference to Jacen Syndulla, Hera’s son, with Kanan Jarrus. However, we know Jacen will appear because a LEGO set reveal had a Jacen Minifigure. Why would there be a LEGO set with him if he’s not in the show? Again, Jacen may be only a recurring character and not part of the main cast. Also, Jacen is mentioned in the character description for Hera on the Wikipedia page for the show.

The LEGO set reveal of Quarrie would be the same as Jacen, though he might be just a one-off appearance.
