6. Zoe’s Obsession With Her Reputation
Zoe Buckingham is beautiful, but she’s also narcissist and cares more about her reputation than she does about others. So, let’s set the scene, shall we? When she arrived in LA she was stalking her ex, Xander Avant. She even trolled Hope Logan and Emma Barber on the Hope for the Future website.
While she ended up getting Xander back briefly, they both ended up embroiled in the Baby Swap. The scheme was started by Zoe’s father, Reese who owed bad men a load of money. When she found out about the switch, she originally intended to tell truth. However, her dad guilt tripped her into keeping quiet. From that moment on, she became the leader of the secret squad.
Every time she appeared, she would tell one the other people involved they would all go to prison if the truth got out. She was also trying to protect her father from going to jail and losing his medical licence. In the end, he got caught and was put behind bars. Zoe, on the other hand, was fired from Forrester because of her part in the scheme.
However, it’s obvious the real reason Zoe covered for her father was to protect her own reputation as a model. If the switch got out, it would jeopardise her standing in the modelling world and no one would hire her. This did actually happen as she mentions to Thomas she couldn’t pay her rent because she wasn’t getting any work. Karma really is a bitch.
