Obi-Wan Kenobi has been moved a few days from its original release date – We’re a few weeks too late, but the release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi has shifted from Wednesday, May 25th to Friday, 27th May. As a reward for waiting so long, fans will be treated to the first two episodes of the six-part series. It is unclear why the series was moved back two days, but we assume it is because of Star Wars Celebration.
Celebration begins the day before Obi-Wan Kenobi debuts (on the 26th) and ends on the 29th. By having all these things line up, the Star Wars coverage will be longer. This is a clever marketing scheme to have the series debut so close to the event. It’s currently unclear whether there will be an Obi-Wan Kenobi panel at the Celebration. Though, it would be weirder if there wasn’t. We’ll likely get more information as the time gets closer.
After going through the guest list on the Star Wars Celebration website, there is no mention of the Kenobi cast being there. However, they might not be listed for a specific reason. There could be any number of reasons. Anyway, we still have roughly six weeks to wait until the series drops. It will be incredible to see what we get. We’ve waited so long for this show and the showdown between Vader and Obi-Wan. It doesn’t matter that the release date got moved. People won’t mind the slight delay. Yes, it might be annoying, but it’s a couple of days. Not a few weeks or months. At least it is not years.
We cannot wait to see what the outcome of the series is and we cannot wait for that rematch.
Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 27th, with the first two episodes.
