The Jonas divorce has gotten nasty remarkably quickly. Joe has accused Sophie of being a party girl who couldn’t care less about their two toddler daughters. Meanwhile, Sophie has accused her ex-husband of “kidnapping” the girls. Now, you might be wondering how the Sussexes fit into this story.
Given the constant will they, won’t they divorce rumours, we wanted to highlight that the Jonas divorce could serve as a blueprint for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle if they decide to go their separate ways.
Different Cultures
The Sussexes are from very different cultures, like Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. Harry is British, while Meghan is American. Joe is American, while Sophie is British. While this is not terrible, the Sussexes make it a problem because they believe playing the victim will win them brownie points because of Markle’s ethnicity.
Ethnicity is not a problem for Joe and Sophie; however, they come from two different countries, and Joe is the more famous one of the pair. He has been famous since 2004 but didn’t hit the big time until he, Kevin and Nick until 2005 when they recorded Please Be Mine.
Sophie, meanwhile, has been acting since 2009 but didn’t make it big until she was cast in Game of Thrones in August 2009 as Sansa Stark. The series debuted in 2011.
Not all different cultured couples have cultural differences. Look at Candace Owens, who is American-American and her Caucasian British husband, George Farmer. They have made their marriage work and have two little boys and a little girl to show for it.
Throwing Barbs At Each Other
Joe and Sophie’s divorce has turned incredibly bitter, and it hasn’t even been a month since the filing. Jonas has painted his ex-wife as a partier who neglects the kids. However, he appears to have forgotten that there is a ton of footage of him and Sophie during the Pandemic, pointing out who the homebody was and who liked to go out. Sophie is the true homebody, while Joe is the social butterfly, which Sophie explicitly says in an interview.
This could also be an issue for the Sussexes but for a separate reason. Harry has a lot of issues, including mental health, drugs, alcohol and otherwise. There is no doubt that Meghan will use this in the event of a divorce. How could she not? He’s immature for the age he is. He wanted a mother figure, which he got when he married her, or so he thought.
Meghan could turn the tides on him during a divorce and cite his drug use, short fuse, mother issues, and immaturity to get custody of the children. Knowing how she schemed to get him to badmouth his family and country and leave behind everything he knew, anything is possible.
Although, there is an alternate version of what may happen here. Perhaps, if Harry pulls his act together, he can flip the script on Meghan by going public with all the vile things she has done to him and his family. He could say that she has never valued family and uses people like Taryn Toomey to do her dirty work. Another thing he could state is that she is jealous of any woman that he’s even remotely associated to, as seen with the Rose Hanbury situation at the 2017 State Dinner. Or even that she refused to wear his carefully designed engagement ring.
