Star Wars is well-known for its Jedi characters. However, the concept of the Jedi was introduced in A New Hope before they were seen in full force (no pun intended) during The Phantom Menace, the first film to explore the background of Luke and Leia’s father, Anakin, before he became Darth Vader.
So, in this post, we wanted to explore the famous members of the Jedi Order. This will only include screen media, so don’t expect to see High Republic Jedi listed here. We’ll also be listing the Jedi by their last known rank. Also, the Jedi are listed in no particular order and are not a complete list.
Jedi Master/Grand Master
The Jedi Masters of the prequel era were some of the most well-known. However, Luke Skywalker was the only known Jedi Master during his time, as he was the one to restart the Jedi Order.
- Yoda – died of old age and was Jedi Grandmaster.
- Yaddle – died at Dooku’s hand.
- Qui-Gon Jinn – died at Maul’s hand and found Anakin Skywalker.
- Shaak Ti.
- Aayla Secura.
- Mace Windu – creator of lightsaber Form VII and thrown from Palpatine’s Office window.
- Dooku – killed by Anakin Skywalker and turned to the Dark Side.
- Obi-Wan Kenobi – student of Qui-Gon Jinn and master of Anakin and Luke Skywalker.
- Keleleran Beq – rescued the youngling Grogu during Order 66.
- Depa Billaba – mentor of Caleb Dume (later Kanan Jarrus).
- Ki-Adi-Mundi.
- Kit Fisto – killed by Palpatine.
- Plo Koon – found Ahsoka Tano.
- Luminara Unduli – master of Barriss Offee.
Knights
Some of the Jedi Order’s most well-known individuals were Knights during their time.
- Luke Skywalker – son of Anakin Skywalker, brother of Leia, reformed the Order, self-taught and master to Ben Solo, Leia and Rey.
- Leia Organa – not officially a Jedi as she never completed her training with her brother Luke, daughter of Anakin Skywalker, second teacher to Rey and mother of Ben Solo.
- Anakin Skywalker – turned to the Dark side, father of twins Luke and Leia, master of Ahsoka Tano and student of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
- Kanan Jarrus – formerly known as Caleb Dume.
Padawans/Apprentices
- Ahsoka Tano – student of Anakin Skywalker, left the Jedi Order before training was completed.
- Grogu – rescued by Kelleran Beq during Order 66, a temporary student of Luke Skywalker.
- Ezra Bridger – student of Kanan Jarrus.
- Ben Solo – student and nephew of Luke Skywalker, grandson of Anakin Skywalker.
- Rey – student of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa.
- Barriss Offee – turned against the Order, framed Ahsoka Tano for terrorism and student of Luminara Unduli.
