Will There Be Any Surviving Jedi In Obi-Wan Kenobi?

We’re edging closer to Obi-Wan Kenobi – As the days continue to tick by, we’re getting closer to seeing our favourite trolling master, Obi-Wan “Ben” Kenobi, back in action. But unfortunately, the former Jedi will have to face his past when he becomes forced to confront Darth Vader for the first time in a decade.

Obi-Wan’s journey in his titular series will bridge the gap between the prequel and original eras, but one question remains. Will we get to see any surviving Jedi?

Something turning in our gut says, yes, we will. However, it likely won’t be Jedi we’re familiar with, like Luminara Unduli, who we know survived Order 66. It’s not unlikely to see Caleb Dune (later Kanan Jarrus) either. However, there might be some references to them.

Do we think we’ll get holograms of missing or captured Jedi? Probably not, but given there was a wanted sign for Obi-Wan, we could see posters or a list written in Aurebesh. That would be ultra-cool to see.

We’ve seen two Jedi from the implication shown in the two trailers. One rumour is Benny Safdie’s character’s name is Nari, as stated by Bespin Bulletin. Given his outfit, the second is said to be Kumail Nanjiani’s character. However, these characters’ affiliations are unconfirmed; their character names are not 100% confirmed.

Fingers Crossed For Jedi History

We have our fingers crossed that there are some references – direct or indirect – to other Jedi that Obi-Wan served alongside. Interestingly, the latest trailer shows the Third Sister, Reva, may have a history with Obi-Wan. This might explain why she goes after him. Hopefully, we will see some of her past and how she became an Inquisitor. If we had to guess, she’s likely about Ahsoka’s age.

Lastly, many of Reva’s fellow Inquisitors are former Jedi turned to the Dark Side. We discuss this in multiple posts, but the Grand Inquisitor was a Jedi Temple Guard. He is present when Ahsoka was tried for an atrocity she did not commit. He is also there when Anakin brought in the actual perpetrator, Barriss Offee.

Perhaps we will get a reference to the Grand Inquisitor’s time as a Jedi Temple Guard.
