Harry And Meghan Believe They Are Pioneers In Hollywood. They Are Not.

Harry and Meghan believe they are pioneers in Hollywood engineering change when all they’re doing is running their mouths. Now, Tinseltown isn’t as big as we think it is. But word gets around relatively quickly. Private conversations cannot be had with the Sussexes without a leak from their Montecito residence.

True pioneers in Hollywood are James Cameron, Andy Serkis and Peter Jackson, who have contributed to change. For example, Serkis is one of the most renowned motion capture actors ever. When he was cast as Gollum in Lord of the Rings, he thought it was just a voice role, only to be told he would physically be playing the character via motion capture. But, of course, this was in the early days of technology, as it was primarily used in sports video games.

What True Pioneers Look Like

Thanks to Andy’s experiences, he has helped the technology evolve into what we see today. It has also allowed him to start his own production company, Imaginarium Productions, which specialises in motion capture projects for film, television and video games. Without Serkis’s involvement, films like Avatar and its recently released sequel, The Way of Water, would not have been possible.

Going over to James Cameron, he is well-known for being deeply involved in sea exploration with National Geographic. He even holds the record for the longest deep sea dive in a one-man submarine, as mentioned in an article by Rolex. His experiences have also shaped which themes he uses in his films. For example, Avatar was about deforestation, mining and the treatment of the indigenous (the Na’vi) by outsiders (humanity). The Way of Water expands on the first film and delves into whaling. Terminator was about preventing the downfall of society. JC is also known to push the boundaries of filmmaking.

The Unfilmmable Becomes Filmmable

Peter Jackson, much like James Cameron, knows how to push filmmaking to its limits. He did the unthinkable when he adapted J.R.R Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings into three live-action films. Initially, the books were deemed unfilmable due to the high fantasy elements of the books. However, these films pushed motion capture performance acting to the forefront. While the earliest form of the technology had been used for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, for the character Jar-Jar Binks’s body, LotR was what gave the tech the recognition it has today.

Because of Andy Serkis, the reboot of the Planet of the Apes franchise wouldn’t have been the success that it was. While each film didn’t break a billion dollars at the box office, they didn’t need to. Why? The story and the cast were enough to carry them, and the technology used to make them continued to evolve.

The technology, as seen in the images above, vastly improved over time to the point that the CGI character came to look similar to the actor in the role. True pioneers understand that growth in the art they are a part of has to be long-lasting, as the development of the motion capture tech has become in Hollywood.

No Interest

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do not have the minds to become pioneers in Hollywood that can be respected. Before his wife came along, the Duke of Sussex had no interest in Hollywood. He never had a creative mind. Harry can claim that he didn’t cheat to pass high school all he wants, but he will do anything to salvage his reputation, and it’s just not working.

Meghan has never actually cared about the arts. She went with the first thing that she thought would win her fame. As Tom Bower mentioned in his book Revenge, one of her drama professors at Northwestern University, she could’ve been a great actress if she had correctly trained. Instead, she declined because she thought she knew best and her skills were Oscar-worthy. Markle was never nominated for any major acting award. Suits wasn’t that big of a show. I’d never heard of it before Meghan came along.

Meghan Never Wanted To Pursue Anything Outside Of Getting Fame

As Brittany of the Royal News Network mentioned in her recent video, Meghan didn’t have the talent to make it. The only reason she got the followers she did on The Tig is her being an actress, but it wasn’t the success she thought it would be. Also, Brittany talks about how many actors at some point go into wardrobe, writing, producing, directing, whatever the case might be.

However, Meghan never achieved that. Sure, she got to adapt someone her interests into Rachel Zane’s personality, had her sex scenes reduced and had some say in her wardrobe, but almost every actor does. That doesn’t mean she has talent, far from it. She never directed an episode or became a producer on the show. Patrick J Adams and Gabriel Macht, who were the leads on Suits, directed episodes and served as producers.

Another exciting point Brittany made was every significant role, if you can even call it that, that Meghan has played is shaped to resemble herself. She doesn’t know how to play anyone else but a version of herself, which is super sad. Her college professor saw potential in her, and she threw it back at them.

Ladies In Action

One actor that Meghan could’ve learned from is Heather Tom. She’s an actress best known in the soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful. Heather has directed 21 episodes of B&B, and she has also directed on the Young and the Restless, the reboot of Dynasty and the Good Trouble. Markle could’ve also learned from Lea Thompson, who has directed multiple television shows, including DC’s Stargirl.

The list goes on. Meghan thought she carried weight because she was on a Canadian television show and then married a prince, and having that association would feed her starving desire for fame. It did not turn out the way she thought.

Also, what does Harry have to offer Hollywood outside of his title? Nothing. Has he ever come up with an alternative way to render VFX creature hair to make the process quicker? No. Does he have any experience in screenwriting? No.
