Meghan Markle’s court case against the Mail on Sunday is almost over with a massive victory. The Duchess of Sussex has won the privacy aspect of her lawsuit.
Now, the former actress issued a statement claiming she had won both the sides of her court case as per Vanity Fair.
Meghan is getting cocky and it shows in her statement:
After two long years of pursuing litigation, I am grateful to the courts for holding Associated Newspapers and The Mail on Sunday to account for their illegal and dehumanizing practices. These tactics (and those of their sister publications MailOnline and the Daily Mail) are not new; in fact, they’ve been going on for far too long without consequence. For these outlets, it’s a game. For me and so many others, it’s real life, real relationships, and very real sadness. The damage they have done and continue to do runs deep.
“The world needs reliable, fact-checked, high-quality news. What The Mail on Sunday and its partner publications do is the opposite. We all lose when misinformation sells more than truth, when moral exploitation sells more than decency, and when companies create their business model to profit from people’s pain. But for today, with this comprehensive win on both privacy and copyright, we have all won. We now know, and hope it creates legal precedent, that you cannot take somebody’s privacy and exploit it in a privacy case, as the defendant has blatantly done over the past two years.
“I share this victory with each of you—because we all deserve justice and truth, and we all deserve better.
“I particularly want to thank my husband, mom, and legal team, and especially Jenny Afia for her unrelenting support throughout this process.”

Meghan Calls Out Media In Statement
What’s more is that she actively called out Associated Newspapers and the Mail on Sunday for spreading misinformation. Umm… what about the war she started with the Palace over who was responsible for changing her name on Archie’s Birth Certificate?
Meghan thinks she is fighting for the little person but to be blatantly honest, no, she’s not. This court case was just her way of throwing her weight around. We’re not on the side of Associated Newspapers at all here in case you Sugars decide to criticise us.
The Mail on Sunday should never have posted that letter. Meghan is just as much at fault here. She allowed her friends to mention it when they spoke to People Magazine. Sure, she can lie and say she had no idea they went to the publication, but it’s clear she knew what they were going to do.
Where Does Everything Go From Here?
Since the copyright aspect of the court case has not been finalised, part of Meghan’s statement is invalid because it has not been decided. From what we’ve been hearing, the case will probably continue in March.
It has been bought to the media’s attention that Meghan had people help her draft the letter. She is right when she said that copyright was breached. However, it will be up to the judge to decide whose copyright. Was it the Duchess, the guy who helped her or the crown since the communications team member works for the Palace.
