Seth Green has been a massive part of the Family Guy series since the beginning. He plays two characters. Chris Griffin and Neil Goldman.

Christopher Cross “Chris” Griffin is Peter and Lois Griffin’s middle child. He is Meg’s younger brother and Stewie’s older brother. Like Peter, he is obese and doesn’t have a high IQ and zero common sense.

There might be several reasons why Chris isn’t too bright. According to the Family Guy canon, his conception was an accident as Peter was wearing a condom that broke. Also, Lois attempted to be reckless while she was pregnant by attempting to miscarry by smoking.

Chris also appears to have some incestuous attraction to his own mother, Lois.

Seth Green didn’t start out as the voice of Chris Griffin in Family Guy. He was bought in after Seth MacFarlane’s pitch for the show was accepted. MacFarlane voiced the character in the pilot pitch.

Seth Green’s second Family Guy character is Neil Goldman, a nerd who attends school with Meg. The character wears a retainer a lot of the time, which is when Seth Green voices him. However, when he’s not wearing the retainer, he is voiced by Seth MacFarlane.

Neil is the editor of the James Woods Bugle, the Adam West High School newspaper. He claims that his cousin is actress Jennifer Love Hewitt. His parents are Mort and Muriel Goldman. His mother is later murdered. He gets a stepmother in Rachel Goldman when his father remarries.
