RUMOUR: Could Captain Rex Be Making His Way Into Live-Action In The Ahsoka Series?

Rex

Could Captain Rex, the lead clone trooper of the 501st Clone Battalion, be about to make his live-action debut in the upcoming Ahsoka series? Star Wars News Net reports that Temuera Morrison, who has played Jango and Boba Fett, Commander Cody and a homeless 501st clone, is due to return to the Star Wars universe as someone he has never played before; Captain Rex.

For those unfamiliar, Captain Rex debuted in the 2008 film Star Wars: The Clone Wars, where he was the second-in-command to Anakin Skywalker before the arrival of Ahsoka Tano. In addition, Rex served as Skywalker’s answer to Commander Cody, who served under Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Before we theorise how Rex comes into the Ahsoka series, we must stress that this is a rumour. There is still a ton of castings that haven’t been confirmed. For example, several news outlets reported over two years ago that Hayden Christensen would return to play Anakin Skywalker. This has never been confirmed. Also, the rumoured casting of Savannah Steyn of House of the Dragon fame has never been confirmed either. She is believed to be portraying young Ahsoka.

We Might Not Know Anything For A While About Rex’s Potential Appearance

We may not know anything until a new trailer comes out with more details or something is mentioned in an interview. There may even been a cast photoshoot that might reveal new details like there was before Obi-Wan Kenobi came out. Or they may leave it to be a massive surprise for the audience.

Going back to Rex, and he always had a soft spot for Ahsoka and losing her during the Rebels Season 2 finale was a crushing blow for him. They had only just reunited after years of being apart. It is unclear whether he knew she had survived her encounter with Vader.

Hopefully, if Temuera Morrison does play him in Ahsoka, there should be a short explanation as to what happened.

When we have more information, we’ll be sure to update you all!

Ahsoka debuts on Disney+ sometime in August.
