It looks like it’s the endgame for Omid Scobie. He cannot accept that no one believes his version of the royal racist translation drama. The disgraced royal author has jumped around all over the place for a supposed royal journalist. He went from saying he supported the British monarchy to then saying, as per Meghan’s Mole, they were misogynistic. Then he proceeds to throw Saskia Peeters, the Dutch translator with over 20 years experience under the bus by saying she added stuff in.
Saskia spoke to a journalist in Holland who reported to the Daily Mail that the manuscript she had received to translate had the names of the royal racists, who were said to be King Charles III and Catherine, the Princess of Wales. She did not add it and that it was there “in black and white.”
Omid Scobie And Endgame Are Duds
Omid Scobie’s Endgame is a congratulatory tome of “I’m a royal correspondent with royal ties” when it couldn’t be further from the truth. After all, Richard Eden said on Palace Confidential this week that he had never heard of Catherine, the Princess of Wales ever being called “Katie Keen” within palace walls. However, it has come out that the name actually came from the Archie comic books that Meghan Markle would read as a child.
The Katy Keen of Archie Comics wanted fame and to be a Broadway star. According to Eden in his royal diaries for the Daily Mail, this sounds like Meghan Markle, who sees herself as more like Betty, known for rescuing injured animals.
The Translation Drama Was On Purpose, No Doubt
Omid cannot understand why people are upset with him. Let’s go ahead and spell it out, shall we? He swears up and down that he did not include the royal racists who were not named in the book for “legal reasons”. Moreover, he does not seem to comprehend what a translator can and cannot do. Therefore, people’s belief the names were put in a translated version of the Endgame book is seen as more pausible. Why? Because he claims he edited the English speaking version, which did not include the names. No one could have put those names in except Scobie.
He likely wrote drafts of the book where the names were in there. No one had the information of what was allegedly said, except him, Harry and Meghan. No one else. Moreover, he likely had a version of the book which was given over to the Dutch translator, via the publisher. A presenter on TalkTV pointed out that there is a process when it comes to the publisher and the translators. Stef the Alter Nerd said something similar where she said, how can you have a translation error when the quote wasn’t there to be translated from the English version?
This also backs up what the TalkTV presenter said. There is a process between getting books translated and signed off by the publisher before they can be printed in the selected language. They have to ensure the manuscripts are the same as the originally written manuscript. It’s the same for books that have to be translated into English. A few that come to mind are the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which was written in Swedish. The second is Red Queen, which was written in Spanish. Both books had to be translated into English. The same applies to Endgame.
Omid Scobie: Proven Liar
It is no secret that Omid Scobie is a known liar. He has sworn multiple times and in legal filings that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry did not influence his first book, Finding Freedom, co-authored by Carolyn Durand. However, it came out in Meghan’s privacy case against the Mail on Sunday that she and Harry did brief Omid and Carolyn via their aide, Jason Knauf.
He still believes they didn’t help him years after the truth was exposed. Moreover, this backs up what’s going on now. He is not taking accountability for anything he has been involved with. Furthermore, he is also refusing to apologise to the King and the Princess of Wales for calling them the royal racists.
