So, we all know Harry and Meghan have an odd relationship with the media, but now they want to support journalism?
So, we came across something rather… interesting. YouTuber Murky Meg posted a tweet on her Twitter account about how she was approached by a freelance journalist for a one-sided Pro-Meghan Markle story that was published by Refinery29 UK. While the article and the publication aren’t what we’re going to be talking about, it’s a screenshot taken from Sussex mouthpiece, Omid Scobie’s Twitter account that was posted in the comments that caught our attention. We know that the Sussexes claim to hate the media, but Scobie has really shot himself in the foot, so to speak.
The screenshot that was taken from Scobie’s account shows that in March 2021 – three months ago roughly – he reported that Harry and Meghan were supporting PressPad, a charity based in the UK that supports upcoming journalists. This claim was backed up by Harper’s Bazaar. Now, this move seems rather odd for a couple who constantly claim they hate the press. Also, Harry stated in The Me You Can’t See that he would get anxious in London, according to MSN.
Moreover, it should be noted that the claim the Sussexes made about one of the multiple reasons they left the UK was because of the ‘racist’ media. So… why are you supporting a UK-based charity that helps young people become journalists? You know, becoming the thing you supposedly despise? We discovered that PressPad was set up primarily for people of colour to achieve their goals of becoming reporters. Let’s not forget how much Meghan loves to say she is a proud woman of colour like it’s a fashion statement.
We don’t have an issue with young people of colour becoming journalists. It’s great that PressPad was created to support this. Much of the UK’s media personnel from what we’ve seen are caucasian.
Mixed Messages And Observations
For a couple like Harry and Meghan who claim to hate the media, why the HELL are they supporting journalism in a country that they dub racist? It just doesn’t make any sort of sense. If anything, it sends mixed messages on their own personal views.
Having observed the Sussexes’ stance on the media, we’ve settled on the following thoughts, which are also had by others:
- Meghan claims to hate the media but actually craves it. She hasn’t ordered the paparazzi who took the photo of her and Archie in California to be sued.
- Harry doesn’t hate the press as much as he claims because he has done multiple interviews.
- The Sussexes haven’t sued The Times and Valentine Low for his exposé on the bullying allegations because the claims are true.
- Multiple PR teams were hired to keep the Sussexes in the press.
- People Magazine who ran the story that mentioned the letter Meghan wrote to her father hasn’t been sued because she [MM] put her five friends up to mentioning it while she denies knowing what they were going to do to take the heat off herself.
- Harry and Megan know when certain events occur within the royal family so they have information drop.
- Harry’s narrative changes so much that it doesn’t match Meghan’s version (i.e. Oprah interview – Archie’s skin colour conversation).
- Meghan loves the camera as she looks down the barrell of the lens every time one is pointed in her direction.
Trend Carefully
To end this post, we want to tell anyone who is thinking about supporting Harry and Meghan’s so-called ‘charitable’ ventures. They bandwagon hop so much that it’s hard to keep track of what they actually support. Look at the Black Lives Matter movement for example.
Meghan broke her silence in June 2020 where she spoke about BLM, according to Hello Magazine. Then, news.com.au reported in October 2020 that Markle and Harry had thrown their support behind the cause. It hasn’t been mentioned again. Look at what happened with the Baby2Baby situation. They took a private jet to a charity drive, were there ten minutes, had some photos taken, and then took off. So much for Harry’s hatred of cameras.
While it’s more than okay to donate to charities that you’re passionate about, please consider why you’re doing it. Is it because YOU want to? Or, is it because you’re being told to by woke D-list celebrities? If they’re telling people to donate, then why don’t they themselves do it? They’re rich enough. Surely, they can spare a few million dollars, right? There’s a difference between raising awareness for something and playing god and sitting in one’s multimillion-dollar house.
