We had much fun with the Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks crossover, so much so that we had to crossover Easter eggs post. This was supposed to be out last week, but we got busy with other posts. So, this article isn’t as detailed as we wanted.
The crossover easter eggs will be from different eras of Star Trek. Also, we’re only covering a handful of these easter eggs so if you want to see the full list be sure to use the above link to the crossover page on the Memory Alpha Fandom site.
Worf And Q
Biolmer references Worf and Q, who appeared in Next Generation and Picard. Q has also popped up in other Star Trek shows.
NX-01 And Crew References
There are three references to the Jonathan Archer Enterprise era. First, a piece of the NX-01 Enterprise was placed in the next ship to bear the name “Enterprise,” meaning the NCC-1701 USS Enterprise.
The crew that was mentioned from the ship included:
- Jonathan Archer (mentioned by Pike)
- Travis Mayweather (mentioned by Ortegas)
- Hoshi Sato (mentioned by Uhura that Sato spoke 86 languages)
Direct References
During a conversation with Biomler, Mariner mentions the events of the Deep Space 9 storyline Past Tense, which was a two-parter. In that storyline, the characters ended up in a “dystopian San Francisco in the middle of a riot.” This is what Mariner says, and Una says to spoke, “Is it just me, or do these events sound weirdly specify?”
There is also a comment that Mariner makes about “young Spock” being hot. This is Jadzia Dax’s comment in the Deep Space 9 episode Tribbles and Tribble-ations.
A Call Out To Real Life
One of the final moments with the Lower Decks crew has first officer Jack Ransom commenting on Biomler’s poster of Una and calling her the hottest first officer in Starfleet. This is a callback to Ransom actor Jerry O’Connell being married to Una actress Rebecca Romijn.
