We’re getting two Disney+ series this year so we’re stocking up on our popcorn now!
The fourth phase of the MCU was supposed to begin slow with a television series and two movies in 2020, but now we’re getting an added extra. WandaVision, the precursor to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is being moved up to 2020.
As to when the show will drop is anyone’s guess at the moment. If we had to guess, it would be after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier drops. Also, with the date change it leaves 2021 less clogged up as the year has seven projects out rather than eight. By the looks of it, when WandaVision got moved up to 2020, Hawkeye got a release date.
By the the time 2022 rolls around, we’ll be at Phase 5 and in the midst of Blade, Black Panther II and Captain Marvel 2.
We’ve already got a small glimpse of what is to come with WandaVision. An image has dropped of Wanda and Vision in an old Sitcom setting. This is similar to the concept artwork we’ve seen floating around. Here’s a comparison:
Casting and Rumours
We don’t know the plot of the series at this time, but we have been teased with the returns of:
- Monica Rambeau – all grown up and played by Teyonah Parris
- Darcy Lewis – Kat Dennings is returning
- Jimmy Woo – Randall Park is returning to his role from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Ant-Man and the Wasp
It’s been hinted at that Wanda and Vision’s twin sons, Wiccan and Speed will also join the series. A possible return of Wanda’s late twin, Pietro has surfaced as a rumor. Please note that this is purely speculation and not 100% confirmed.
When an official release date is confirmed, we will be sure to share it. In the meantime, we celebrate the fact that Phase Four is a lot a closer.
