Did King Juan Carlos help spread the Queen Letizia affair rumours as revenge against his son, King Felipe VI as revenge? According to the Daily Mail, the supporters of the former Spanish monarch might have been behind the slanderous information.

Also, the man involved in the alleged scandal, Jaime del Burgo, alleges a selfie Spain’s queen took while pregnant with one of her daughters, either Princess Leonor or Infanta Sofia of Spain, was “proof” that Letizia was committing infidelity because she was wearing a pashmina that he allegedly owned.

Once Upon a Time – and even now – King Juan Carlos was popular in Spain because he restored the monarchy after the death of Franciso Franco. Furthermore, Franco is a dictator who became a surrogate father to him. When he abdicated in 2014 in favour of Felipe, he claimed his age was why he was stepped down. However, he was covering for something much larger; dodgy business dealings, using money he didn’t have a right to use and an affair with Corinna Larsen. All this is highlighted in the Corinna and the King podcast.

How Does King Felipe VI

So, how does Felipe VI come into this story? The current king has exiled his father to Abu Dhabi and “frozen him out.” Spanish journalist, Federico Jiménez Losantos, has claimed that King Juan Carlos’ inner circle is “whipping up a campaign”. They’re going against the current King and Queen.

The claims of the Spanish Queen having an affair were released in a recent book called “Letizia and I.”
