Why does everyone forget that Beth is Kelly’s sister?
Okay, why does everyone forget the fact that Beth, Liam’s daughter with Hope is Kelly’s half-sister? In today’s The Bold and the Beautiful episode, Steffy and Finn gush at each other while at the Forrester heiress’ doctor’s appointment.
There is not one mention of Beth being Kelly’s sister. Finn gushes when Steffy shows him the sonogram photo that the baby is going be lucky and blah, blah, blah. Not one mention to his potential step-daughter’s half-sister.
Bear in mind that this is not the first time this has happened. When Thomas was obsessing over Hope, he had this fantasy where Hope wasn’t sad when her mother died. There were photos of them and Douglas as a family. It is also mentioned in this mind-scape that Liam and Steffy were raising Kelly together. There was not one mention of Beth in the entire sequence.
Though Thomas was out of his mind at the time and all he wanted was his son to have a mother while forgetting Caroline is Douglas’ mother. It’s as if the writers on the show don’t care about Beth at all. They write her in like she doesn’t exist most of the time. No, this has nothing to do with the kids not being in the show at the moment.
Essentially, in the eyes of the writers, Beth is basically the new generation equivalent of Phoebe, Steffy’s late twin sister. They also treat her like she will be the new version of Hope, always losing at everything to her sister. All The Bold and the Beautiful seems to do is favour the Forrester children over anyone else.
It’s tiresome and it needs to end. The writers need to stop favouring their characters. If people thought fans were bad with taking sides, the people behind the show are much worse.
