Justin Morgan’s daughter, Ava Gilbert, has been back on Home and Away for a while. While she has aged up to reflect how fast characters grow on soap operas, she has also been causing headaches. It is revealed that she is the stalker of Theo Poulos, Leah Patterson-Baker’s nephew, who is the lead singer of Lyrik. His girlfriend, Kirby, has been overly concerned about the teenager’s obsession with her boyfriend. Now, however, things have taken a dark turn.
Ava has acted as if Theo is her boyfriend and they’re in love when they’re not. His daughter has blinded Justin because he wasn’t around her for most of her life as he was in witness protection. Now that she’s back in the bay, he’s been trying to spend time with her, but to no effect. Instead, she’s more interested in her phone and fangirling over Theo.
Look Out, Kirby!
Kirby, who has become Ava’s number one target of hate, was the one to learn of Ava’s obsession and told Theo. He then went to his aunt and told her. Meanwhile, Leah was forced to show Justin Ava’s scrapbook.
Ava thinks that Leah is against her when she’s not. Also, Leah has tried to help by bringing in Roo to tutor her stepdaughter. However, Ava wants nothing to do with her schoolwork and thinks Roo is there to spy on her for Leah.
This pushes Leah to leave for a few days and Theo to move in with Kirby and their fellow band members, Eden and Remi. Theo later gets fed up, confronts Ava, and tells her they will never be a couple, leading her to storm off. Instead, she jumps into the front seat of a random dude’s van, and he takes off.
Theo Goes Straight To Justin About Ava Running Off
Theo runs straight to Justin, who calls and texts her multiple times to no avail. He then reports her missing to Rose Delaney, the local policewoman. Later we see Ava is fine, despite the promos implying that something horrible has happened to her. Finally, she gets a text from Theo and instantly jumps at the chance to respond.
She lies, says she’s in trouble and sends a map to Theo, which Justin then follows and finds her. The promos take it one step further and see Justin hit the guy with the van. Cash, Rose’s police partner, then arrests Justin for assault. Something much more serious must happen because it looks like the charges are upgraded. Does the guy die? We don’t know yet.
Ava is distraught and realises that her actions now have consequences. Her dad could go to prison, and it’s her fault, but what will be the result? Will Ava be returned to her mother, Nina, in the city, and will Justin escape his situation? Time will tell.
