However, she would have loved Catherine, the current Princess of Wales (formerly Kate Middleton), due to her ability to work hard and put others before herself.

Catherine has suffered as Diana did all those years ago with the paparazzi. Meghan did not cop the same treatment as it was a very different time compared to when Kate was dating William.
Diana would not have allowed Meghan Markle to be within a million kilometres of Harry. She would have told her to take a hike. Also, Harry’s assumption that his mother would’ve jumped up and down with excitement at his engagement to Meghan shows how little he knew his mum.

She was the victim of her circumstances as she was so young that she was just out of her teens. Meghan Markle was a 36-year-old woman with worldly experiences when she married Prince Harry. She was not a naive woman, though she liked to pretend she was.
Diana would have seen past this in a flash, pulled her youngest son aside, and told him that his girlfriend wasn’t suitable for him. She would have also done a deep dive into her past. She would have likely done the same with Catherine, but she would’ve seen what a reasonable person she was compared to Meghan.
