Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her husband, Prince Daniel, have just completed a royal tour of Sydney, Australia. The Crown Princess couple attended events at the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Botanic Gardens. While there, the future Swedish Queen addressed her father, King Carl XVI Gustaf’s heart surgery, according to 9Honey’s Natalie Oliveri. The monarch’s surgery is due to take place on February 20.
Victoria and Daniel’s tour is three years in the making, as it was postponed back in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Victoria’s only Australian interview was with 9Honey, but she could not talk further about it as she was ushered away. According to Ms Oliveri’s recap, she said that the Crown Princess was touched to have been asked about her father’s health.
A Chance To
Her Royal Highness was also asked if she intended to return with her two children, Princess Estelle, a future Queen of Sweden, and Prince Oscar. Her response was that they had been asking to join her and their father – likely on the trip. Victoria and Daniel were in Canberra on Monday, visiting a Koala rehab centre.
While in Sydney, the royal couple also had the opportunity to meet the female football (soccer) team, the Matildas. They have also attended other events, including private nighttime events. They will spend three days in New Zealand before returning to King Carl Gustaf’s side in Sweden when he undergoes his surgery.
This year’s Swedish royal trip is Victoria’s second as she had to Australia one time before in 2005. It is believed that it might be Prince Daniel’s first time in the country as the future Prince Consort of Sweden.
