Was Meghan Markle jealous that Prince Harry was seated beside Rose Hanbury during the 2017 State Banquet? Could the Prince William-Rose Hanbury affair rumour have started because a certain someone was upset? It’s entirely possible. The idea for this Sussex theory came from Canellelabelle on Twitter, whose tweets we love.
In a thread of 15, Canellelabelle mentions how ridiculous the Rose Hanbury and Prince William affair rumours were. On the 10th post in the thread, she goes over the events of the Spanish State Dinner in 2017. David Rocksavage [Cholmondeley] (the Lord Great Chamberlain) was invited to the event on July 12 2017. The senior royals were present, and this included Prince William and Catherine, who had just become full-time working royals. Rose Cholmondeley, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, was also seated beside Prince Harry.
The Tabloids Played A Part In Beginning The Affair Speculation
The gossip mags and other tabloids falsely implied that Catherine wanted Prince Harry and Rose Hanbury to date. However, there is a hitch there. Rose was happily married to David Rocksavage and had three children: twin boys, Alexander and Oliver Cholmondeley and a girl, Iris Cholmondeley. You’re probably wondering what this has to do with Meghan Markle.
Meghan was (metaphorically) shouting from the rooftops that she and Harry were dating. She would disclose what they did when they were together, like she would allegedly cook for him. Let’s not forget that she would also scream about “their love,” which brings us to the headlines. Did Markle see the false headlines in the tabloids about how amazing Rose Hanbury looked and what an incredible wife she would make for Harry? Most likely. After all, the tabloids claimed that Catherine wanted to set Rose and Harry up and that Harry and Rose flirted and all this stuff that didn’t happen.
All Prince Harry Did Was Talk To Rose
By the time of the State Dinner, Rose and David had been married about a decade. They were married two years before William and Catherine were. All Harry did during this dinner was engage in conversation with the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. Nothing more, nothing less.
Also, Prince Harry was not in Rose’s inner circle. All he was to her was William’s brother and Catherine’s brother-in-law. But there’s more.
In another point from the thread, Canellecitadelle also points out that the rivalry stories started coming out after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s May 2018 wedding. This was also when the atmosphere within the royal shifted on a drastic scale. There were stories about rivalries between William and Harry and Catherine and Meghan.
The Rumours Of Rivalry Started After The Sussex Wedding
In April 2019, the stories about the supposed rivalry between Catherine and Rose came out in The Sun newspaper. There quickly became a pattern of “sources” that came out.
Here’s the truth: there was never a feud or rivalry between the future Queen and the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. Nor did William father Rose’s children, which brings us to the next point we wanted to raise.
David Rocksavage has known William most of his life. He became the Lord Great Chamberlain when William was about 8 when he worked for The Queen. Catherine didn’t meet the Cholmondeleys until 2009, when Rose and David were married and expecting their sons. One happens to have served alongside Prince George as a page at King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation.
What Probably Happened With What Kickstarted The Rumour
2009 was the year when William and Catherine were at their strongest. They were ready to get married and settle down. Catherine and Rose found they had a lot in common. They both loved children and loved art.
Returning to Meghan and Harry, it is entirely possible that Markle didn’t like what was being put out in the tabloids about Catherine allegedly playing matchmaker, even though it never happened as Rose was married. The Duchess of Cambridge would never break up a marriage. All this crap about Meghan not reading tabloids is total BS. She probably wanted to make Catherine look bad by having Giles Coren tweet about the “affair that everyone knows about.”
If it looked like Harry was “cheating” and Catherine was allegedly behind it, Meghan could play dirty and get Giles to do her bidding. While we know Catherine would NEVER break a couple up for a laugh, we know Meghan would, as she allegedly wanted William and not Harry.
