Superman & Lois: Jordan Elsass Won’t Be Returning To Show

Jordan

In a shocker, Jordan Elsass will not return to Superman & Lois for its third Season. Variety reports that Jordan Elsass, the actor behind one-half of the Kent twins, Jonathan and Jordan, will NOT be returning to Superman & Lois. Elsass, who plays Jonathan, has not released a statement about his departure currently, as his last Instagram post was on June 19. As the news is an hour old, it might be a while until more context is given. However, it has been made clear that the exit had NOTHING to do with a dispute. The studio has been notified.

Season 3 of the superhero series will begin production in early September. Jordan’s representatives have cited that the actor has withdrawn from the show for personal reasons. Recently, he did not attend a fan event alongside costars Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch, who portray his parents and onscreen brother, Alex Garfin.

Recasting in superhero shows is nothing new. In two seasons, one of which is upcoming, Stargirl has undergone two casting changes with recurring characters, The Thunderbolt and Charles McNider. Seth Green will replace Jim Gaffigan as the voice of the Thunderbolt in Season 3. Alex Collins replaced Henry Thomas as Charles McNider in Season 2 after Thomas played the role in Season 1.

Superman & Lois Season 3 begins airing in 2023 Without Jordan Elsass

Batwoman recast Kate Kane after Ruby Rose exited at the end of Season 1. The second season played around the character’s disappearance. Wallis Day (Krypton) later jumped in to continue the role, explaining why Kate looked different.

Whatever the case, we wish Jordan the best of luck in future endeavours. You will always be a member of the Superman & Lois family.

Finally, unrelated shows have recast characters in recent years, including the long-running soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, which recast the character of Zende in 2020. The role of Henry Allen was also recast for the upcoming The Flash movie.
