The Role Of Henry Allen Has Been Recast For The Flash Movie

Henry Allen

There will be a new Henry Allen in the upcoming The Flash movie…

When Barry Allen finally gets the big screen in his first solo movie, his father, Henry Allen, will look a lot different in the DCEU than he did in Justice League and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Billy Crudup has dropped out of the role and will be replaced by Ron Livingston in The Flash, according to Variety.

Crudup dropped out of playing Henry Allen because there was an alleged scheduling conflict with another project, Apple TV Plus’ The Morning Show. It’s yet to be seen if the different-looking Henry Allen will be addressed in the film itself.

Meet Barry Allen’s Father, Henry Allen

Here’s a rundown of Barry’s dad, Henry, in the comics and other media.

Henry Allen was married to a woman named Nora, and they had a son, Barry. It is later revealed that they actually had twins. One twin was believed to be stillborn and was given to another family to make up for a bungled birth gone wrong.

When Barry was just a child, he witnessed his mother get murdered by something he cannot explain. Because he is just a kid, he isn’t believed, and his father is put in prison for his wife’s murder. After Henry Allen dies in prison, the truth comes out that Eobard Thawne was the one responsible for Nora’s murder.

Very little is known about the plot of The Flash outside of it may take aspects from the Flashpoint storyline. It is also revealed that Nora, Barry’s mother, is expected to play a role in the film as well. The movie will also feature two different versions of Batman, one played by Ben Affleck and the other by Michael Keaton.

The Flash is due out in November 2022.
