Shazam: Fury Of The Gods – A Look Behind The Scenes

Shazam

As we round off our second-last DC FanDome post, we had to talk about the behind-the-scenes footage from Shazam! Fury of the Gods. We first saw Lucy Liu and Helen Mirren as two of the three daughters of Atlas who will serve as antagonists to the Shazam family. IGN Movie Trailers posted the video to their YouTube Channel:

We probably get a look at Rachel Ziegler, who is playing the third daughter of Atlas. However, no name for the character has been given yet. Also, she’s possibly a love interest for Jack Dylan Grazer’s character, Freddy as seen in the footage.

There is also a closer look at the new Shazam family super suits and of Grace Fulton as Superhero Mary. Just a small note of Mary. In the first film, Mary’s superhero alter ego was played by Michelle Borth whereas, in this new film, Grace is playing both versions of Mary. Whether there’s an explanation for this in the movie is yet to be seen. Perhaps she wanted a new face and decided to use her own. We don’t expect there to be one, but it would be nice if there was.

Mirren and Liu

We also wrote about the first look some time ago. In addition, we’ve also spoken about Lucy Liu playing Kalypso and Helen Mirren playing her sister. Moreover, we never thought Mirren would go for a role like this, but we thought the same thing when she was cast as Dean Hardscrabble in Monsters University too.

Shazam 2 is meant to be bigger than the original, with much larger action scenes and even better costumes. Also, we’ve got awesome from Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu. What could be better than that? We’re excited by that, and we know there will be others who will feel the same way.
